eBay by trying to cover ALL iterations and all possible descriptions of an item, they have created even more specifics that need to be clarified. Most buyers look at pictures and then decide to read only a few if any important written or specific information.
I sell glass, pottery, china in many forms. The add specifics (11 in one auction) sometimes is not even slightly related to actual auction.
What I would like the management to do: HAVE THE PROGRAMMERS (or whatever they are called) ACTUALLY DO AUCTIONS for a month in the real world. Start from scratch and follow through to actual mailing of the item. When they have an idea of how it works, THEN let them tweak the system. I have been with eBay around 23 years and seen it go from bad to good and now working back down. As a stockholder (just off the IPO) I am probably going to liquidate my positions shortly. I have been slowly starting to use other on-line sites mainly due to MUCH LOWER FEES! My last gripe (for now) is eBay siding in most cases with the buyer, even when there is blatant proof of "scamming" by the buyer. My feedback is positive, I describe in detail the attributes and flaws or issues with the "stuff" I sell and rarely have any returns. Oh Well, off to push the chain up the hill for awhile!

if ebay employees were required to actually use ebay in earnest, not just have an account with two listings, but actually sell for a period of time- we would have a much better ebay for all to use for sure. its only through use that you can actually feel the frustrations that we all feel by selling here. Next the overall arrogance that u the company has of "we know better than sellers, what sellers need" would have to change! I noticed that they started polling and asking more , but then they typically do whatever they want anyway until its too late. just ask, listen, and do it right the first time. simple

You couldn't have put it any better! That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. Way too many specifics. It's coming to the point that it's not even worth listing an item anymore. I've been selling on Ebay for over 20 years and it just keeps getting worse. I used to list items in a matter of minutes with Turbolister, then they got rid of that too.

I only use the specifics that I need and ignore the rest.
