i don't understand. "Make sure your item gets sold: Starting 10 days after listing, we'll lower the price (5% every 5 days) until your item sells or gets to $47. We'll notify buyers who showed interest each time the price drops. Turn it off anytime by going to your listing." ...." Can you explain to me? tks

Pretty much how they stated it - they (eBay) have decided to 'help' you sell by reducing the price if it doesn't sell within the time they stipulated for you LOL
Go to your listing/s and turn this function off - they should give you the option to ADD the function, not force you to go to the effort of REMOVING it, but eBay in it's wisdom seems to understand our business model better than we do (sarcasm)

This was the Easy Pricing that they introduced a while back. I quick search yielded very little info on turning it off but I found that you may want to end the listing, and "sell similar". This time, just make sure you uncheck Easy Pricing. Good luck!

This is the description of an Ebay policy on listings called "Easy Pricing". I'm not sure there's a lot to explain past what's already there. After 10 days, Ebay's system knocks 5% off the price of the item every five days until the item sells or until it hits $47.
As far as whether it's smart or not, it's very very dumb. You want to set your prices, not ebay. End the listing and replace it with "Sell Similar" if you have set it.
What part is it you don't understand?

This is called Easy Pricing and is an option eBay has, as a service to sellers, that automatically lowers the item price you set, at intervals until it reaches a target price. The option is located on the Quick listing tool, under the Price heading.

They want to sell your item and don't care if you profit or not. Turn that feature off. Never believe ebay suggested prices. Always aim for profits and use your own prices.
