Did you mean:

lack of multiple bids

I start a lot of things at auction first (mostly book and media lots). There is a real trend lately of them selling with just the minimum bid which is the lowest of what I want (not 99 cents!). You may say, then why not just list for free at Fixed Price? It's because my space for boxes of stuff in my store is extremely limited. I have to think carefully about what to keep.

For those using auctions are you finding similar results?

Re: lack of multiple bids

Not all things are best sold at auction.  If an item doesn't have the interest of potential buyers it is probably not going to do well at auction.

Re: lack of multiple bids

You need space?

You need to sell quickly?

Auctions are not the way to go.......

10 days to end - 4 days to pay - JMO = 2 weeks wasted and item is still taking up space.

Re: lack of multiple bids

I don't want to hijack my own thread but I discussed this at length with my husband. He was involved in a large case related to a storage unit and says the cards are stacked very much in their favor and he doesn't  think there is much to do. My insurance claim was denied. Onward.

Re: lack of multiple bids

Apparently....eventually. The only times my FP lots sell quickly are just after I moved an auction to FB and I really think people were following what I did. Of course many people dislike auctions so these people got the items with no wait. Other lots...languish.

Re: lack of multiple bids

Do you mean in that scenario the auction isn't paid for?

The auction vs. fixed price is an old chestnut and like political parties, one side is unlikely to change  the other's mind.

I was just curious if the scenario of one-bid-only is a "thing" these days and thanks for responses that touch on this.
