just learned something thing ebay does or doesn't do

OK, on a different ID buyer opens INR after tracking shows it deliver two weeks earlier. Send them and ebay the tracking number and even copy/paste tracking details for buyer.  Twenty minutes later they close case saying it was their fault in more detail. But it's the reason the sale got screwed up that important -

Basically buyer bought something from somebody for their mother, first changing his ship to address to hers, which was on his 'approved shipping address' list - he then bought our thing - without changing it back. They said they didn't even think about the address.

So their thing was shipped to their mom in Delaware and not to their job site in Hong Kong. And she gave the $300+ in vintage action dolls ... I mean figures to the 'nice kids' next door for xmas.

Now as this person took blame I take it as a legit claim, and I don't see why they would make up a story, and I know that when we change the zip in our own listing [to see price buyer is showed] it somethings doesn't change back -

SO if you're buyer gifts and shipping straight to 'them' make sure to double check address each time.

Why?  You want to be responsible for refunding the buyer for a mistake they made?  Why would you do that?

Sellers are responsible, actually required to ship to the address that appears on the purchase.  Seller did what they were suppose to do.  I would never support this as being a "legit" claim.  It is a "legit" mistake and as humans we all make them from time to time, even buyers.
