anybody else having problems with people winning bids and not paying for them. I send messages but I don't get any response from them, which means that I wind up cancelling the transaction.

Re: items won

I'm sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, if you look around in the boards, you will see you are far from being alone.

Have you considered dropping auctions and going into buy-it-now sales, and Immediate Payment Required listings?

That would dramatically reduce your problems That are symptomatic of auction-type sales.

Re: items won

I don't have problems, but I list BIN with IPR, as @spark-chaser1 points out. I do hope that you're waiting until Day 5 and cancelling, citing 'Buyer didn't pay', so that the buyers deadbeats will earn the Unpaid Item strike that'll keep them away from us other sellers who have that blanket block in place. Upward and onward...

Re: items won

Hi, out of 602 listings, you are running 602 auctions. I am curious why that is.

Looking at your completed listings, I see 1800+ ended listings and 31 sales. Out of these 31 ended sold auctions, 26 of them had only 1 bid. That is because most of your items are regular goods that are not hard to find. So folks move on to a listing where they don't have to wait.

Auctions are best used for rare, collectible, highly coveted items. Everyday items are best sold at fixed price because most shoppers don't want to wait to win an item when they can buy it now and have it shipped right away, or have it in hand when they walk out of the store. If you listed your items at fixed price with Immediate Payment Required, you would likely sell more and it would completely wipe out the non-payers that are a feature of auction listings, or listings with Best Offer (which voids an IPR setting).

Re: items won

Unfortunately, the non-paying phenomenon is quite common for auction listings. Just send the reminder invoices daily for 4 days & then on the 5th just cancel the order due to non-payment, & relist the item.

Good luck!

There is virtually no penalty for a buyer who wins an auction or accepts an offer and then does not pay. Many sellers have switched to fixed price listings because of this.

@bag2man

Well, I would have cancelled and relisted that ^^^ one on Day 5, too. But that's just me...
