item sold

greetings ebay group i have a question about an item i recently sold here. the item got sold after the buyer messaged me asking if i can lower the price for him and suggested a price which i agreed to, then before paying for the item he proceeded to ask me if if it was a used item bc it showed scratches on a chain piece, I then asked him if he read the description bc i mentioned it there along with a zoomed in picture of the damaged/scratch part.  so he proceeded to purchase the item, i shipped the item the next day, 7 days had passed and he was messaging me asking about the item, he's been breathing on my neck since then, wanting to open up a case if usps does not show any new updates on their page. The item finally arrived today and now he is saying the item is not in the condition that i described it to be that he'll be opening up a case on ebay or to send him a refund or to settle on $25.00 refund and he keeps the item (25.00 is prettyy much half of what he payed to ebay out of that i got 27 bucks after shipping and ebay fees. my question is what proceeds ? whats the best route to take this ? at this point i believe he had buyers remorse and thats the reason he came up with all these complaints. Apologies for the long read but needed to share the back story. TIA

If it was new, like listed, it shouldn't have been scratched up like that.

Just politely tell him to return the item for a full refund.  Then you can relist it and sell it to someone better.

Have you ever read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers?

I am looking at the piece...I guess it is old but never removed from cardboard.

Basically, the chain piece has paint worn from probably being clinging near on or other metal.

It's a tool pouch which will get wear and worn rather quick from being used.

It's a return in my opinion and I bet buyer won't return it.

Buyers are lazy and it is for a use which I bet the buyer is already using it...LOL

I have a return due tomorrow from May 14th...LOL...no tracking and no item returned...due date for return is June 5th...so I am guessing my funds on hold for my item will be released on the 6th.

It's kinda a 'truth or dare' game as to what the buyer is wondering what you do.
