item returned due to 'Service Disruption Occurred'

Used UPS to mail item on 1.8.25 to New Castle, DE. Item arrived in New Castle 1.16.25. Tracking said a Service Disruption Occurred. Buyer sent message asking where package was on 1.22.25, I answered that tracking indicated package was being sent back to me. If she wanted I could cancel the sale and issue a full refund once I received package, or I could resend with no postage cost to her. She opted to have me resend. My question is: will UPS cover the postage? Can I reprint and use the original postage label?

No, you can't use the same shipping label, you have to buy a new one.

Have a great day.

Any idea what was the service disruptions? That might help in determining the course of action.

Typically, when packages are returned is usually due to address problems. You can refund and deduct shipping cost, or you could resend using new label that you charge buyer via PayPal. You already offered to send package at your cost, so are stuck with it. Unless you can get UPS to explain what happened, there is no way to "re-use" the label. If they dropped the ball, maybe you can use that against them. But, as it is, that label has been used and served its purpose.

It would be interesting to know if eBay considers this an Undeliverable item.

EBay does not require any refund on Undeliverable shipments.

If the problem is that she gave a bad address, even as a Good Seller you don't owe her Free Shipping when it was her error.

Was the problem weather? Wildfires? What does Google Maps show at the address? Was it going overseas? Is import to the destination country banned?
