No.  Lately,  my sales ratio has been more like 50/50 PL/non-PL.  Usually it's 70/30  on the PL side.  But I've always made sales both ways.

Unlike me, My sales on this Oct all through PL, 13 sales via PL, 0 sales via non-PL, even my listings organic views more than the promoted listings views on October (562/857) PL views/non-PL views, however i didn't get non-PL sales this month.

@aqeeqsouq  Mine varies too.  The 50/50 is low for me (and it's not an exact count, just an eyeball estimate), usually I have way more PL sales.   I don't think I've ever had a month with no non-PL sales, but I've had some that seem closer to 90/10.

Got to have a plan...I promote some but not all items...the trick is to get return buyers who return to buy. First impressions on a new buyer are very important. I promote usually the high end stuff to get lookers...usually items  that won't sell immediately but it does get buyers looking at your stuff. Maybe 10 promoted out of every 100 items for sale.

As a retired seller who has sold on EBay for over 20 years.  I was making $600 a week last year.  After a blitz of EBay messages suggesting I sell items via Promo listings and my refusing!?  I’m now making $75 a week.

My opinion is that they are not.

Yes EBay is limiting your listings if you are not using their promotion tool. I called them about it caked them out on their **bleep** . So basically they are limiting the amount of traffic towards your listings on purpose.

NO they are not and YES promoted listings is an option.

You could answer this question for yourself if you had reviewed the latest Ebay Financial statements.  The revenue for them from PL is growing but is still a small percentage of their total sales.

I know it seems like everyone uses them, but they don't.  Most sellers do not use them.  It is just certain categories that are really saturated with listings where you see them a lot.  And then of course the clutter on our listings when buyers review them.

I do understand where you are coming from, this has been a hard summer for many of us.

You must sell under a different ID, which is absolutely fine, I just don't see any listings with this ID.

Yes I felt forced and after two of my items were listed w the listing promotion I didn't want. I didn't know how to turn it off. Surely no help how to do that. No contact number...

Test it and find out.  Divide a large category in half.  Promote half at Ebay's recommended amount.  Promote the other half at the minimum.  Or, promote half at the minimum, and promote half...not at all.

Run this way for a month or two and see what happens at the end of that time.  Having done this myself a few times on some large categories, I no longer see any value in high promotion percentages on most collectibles, novelties, and media.   There simply are no relative gains in sales.  And sometimes, strange to relate...sales are WORSE with high percentages.

Maybe on brand-new commodity items there is value, since there isn't much else to differentiate the listings...but that's not what I sell.

If you want to kick loose some sales and maybe jumpstart things, make some coupons with a super deep discount and send them to your old customers.  Has to be deep to motivate buyers who weren't already planning to buy.  25% at minimum, I would say.

@mark956101957

You had to of turned it on when you created your listing.  If you want to turn it off, go in and edit your listing.  I believe the setting is towards the bottom of the listing form.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service.  Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is.  Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message.  It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left.  If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options.  Not all options are available 24/7.  It will depend on staffing available.  So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't.  Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me.  If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

I don't think it's that you're being blocked, it's just that because so many sellers are using Promoted Listings now you're being pushed out because your listings are being pushed so far back in search results.
