Hopefully someone has the answer. if I put my store on hold for 4 months do I still need to pay monthly store fees? So many fees coming out of my profits when I sell an item since I am paying an extra 6.0% in fees since I am "below stands". 7 defects given for being out of stock. I sell on a different platform and if I sell it there then that same person buys it off of my Ebay store and I didn't remove it quick enough from my Ebay store I get a defect. I have been a top rated seller since I began on Ebay 1998. So sad that as a seller you do all you can to be in good stands and this is how you're treated. Maybe what I will need to do is close my store and start over in 4 months? I know that I am on the bottom on the listing pages and most of my sales now go to mostly pay my store fees.

You may end up with bigger issues than "below standard penalty fees"
The thing is, if you go "on hold" (I assume that means no selling) your stats may continue to decline.
As you wait for the "self induced defects" to drop off your good transactions will also drop off at the same time. That may be an improvement %age wise, or it may drop your stats even lower.
If you do not show continued "improvement" your account may be permanently suspended rather than just remaining "below standard".
If that happens, there is no "start over".

So you have been Below Standard for several months, is that correct?
Why so many OOS defects? Do you have your inventory under control now? If not, do that ASAP.
You are getting treated this way because you made multiple mistakes. That is why there are rules and they apply to all of us no matter how long we have been on Ebay.
Selling cross channel is extremely dangerous as you have sadly found out. You really should stop doing that right away. You can sell on other venues, I do, but I have the inventory to cover if everything sold on every site I have it listed. As should you. Don't do it otherwise.
You were doing something you should not have been doing in the first place, this isn't Ebay's fault.
What you need to do is concentrate on getting more Ebay sales. You need to dilute the numbers. As those defects start falling off things will improve for you. But for now run a Markdown sale or do whatever you can to increase your transaction number so that the number will dilute the Defects. That is your way out.

"So sad that as a seller you do all you can to be in good stands and this is how you're treated."
This is something one of my children might have said when they were 3 years old.
Please don't expect pity here. By your own testimony, you have failed miserably as an eBay seller.
Some take eBay seriously, and we do well.
Maybe focus on the other platform and abandon eBay altogether?

Sorry to answer your question like this, but it's like asking if you are out of town for four months, do you still need to pay rent on your home (as well as utilities)? Yes, you do!
If you pay for a yearly store subscription, you will be paying an early termination fee. If you pay from month to month, then I think you just pay for the balance of the month

Yes, you do pay fees as long as you still have an account with ebay.
We are all treated the same way on here. I just opened my store again for the first time in a few weeks. For the last 4 months it has been open and closed while we renovate, sometimes allowing sales and other times not. I took the majority of my items off the store for now.
Maybe you should just look and see which of your stores are more lucrative and close the other one? I've had stores on 3 locations at the same time and it is a pain in the butt to keep your inventory fresh on all of them, but thankfully two of them were linked so when I had a sale on one, it deducted it from the inventory on the other, so I had to remember to change the availability on the 3rd one. Maybe the other platform is better for you to continue with, since this one is on ebay's radar.
I wish you well in your selling and your decision.

Wow that’s a bit harsh. I wasn’t looking for pity but advice and I take eBay very seriously by the way. I want to still be here since 1998 if I thought otherwise. It’s a means of support that I do this for several other families that are struggling to stay afloat. But thank you for your input. Have a wonderful day.

How OR why would the same buyer do that?

There is speaking the truth in a way that is meant to HURT someone and then there is speaking the truth in a way to help someone. You have a tendency to post in a way that is meant to hurt someone. Totally unnecessary and certainly unwanted by most.

It was more than harsh. For some reason that is their preferred way of posting. Likely more for entertainment than in an effort to actually help someone else.
Listen to those that are speaking to you with respect and in a civil tone. You will be much better off.

If it was in his crafting stuff, you might be surprised to find that this can happen often in the Craft type stuff industry. Depends on what the needs of the crafter is for what they are trying to create. I've experienced crafting groups trying to find enough of a certain thing to do a project. I've also had, and I must say I love it when it does, that a certain crafting book is flying off the shelves on every site I sell on. Likely because something when viral and many want to make whatever it is.
But I can only speak to the craft stuff, which isn't everything this seller sells.
