Email notifications are not "immediate". But they can be configured under Communication Preferences here:
https://commspreferences.ebay.com/commsprefs
But please understand that while email is a convenience, it is NOT a foolproof notification system. There are dozens - if not hundreds - of servers, routers, filters, and programs between eBay's outbox and your inbox. And most of that is outside the control of both you and eBay.
IMHO anyone selling on eBay should be logging into their account every day to check for sales, disputes, returns, and messages.

I also recommend logging into your eBay account - several times a day. Lookig for something ready to ship is the hope but issues with existing orders take precedence.

How was that managed before ?? in "paypal time".....I got immediate notification from paypal, and from ebay.
Why ebay can't keep this email notification...I do not see any other way to notify sellers(it's a must). And no, I do not log in every day to ebay, I have very few thing listed.
PLUS for transfering money to my bank account....2 days...go figure 🙂

eBay can't keep that email notification because (in your own words) you got "immediate notification from paypal".
PayPal™ wasn't actually notifying you of a sale - merely that you had received a payment. If it was for a sale they would have included the details in that notification, but if it were simply a payment from a friend or family, the subject line of the email would have been the same: "Notification of Payment Received".
Since entering (mis)Managed Payments, PayPal™ no longer considers me the seller - eBay is, in their eyes. So eBay would get any payment notifications that they choose to receive from PayPal™. YOU would get your notifications from eBay regarding your payments and if you can't be bothered to check in long enough to check the status of your sold page, I don't think you'll find a lot of sympathy from your fellow sellers.

I’m with you - PayPal managed notifications, why not Ebay?
And my bank manages to notify me of Ebay deposits…
I also disagree with the advice to check daily. I stopped actively selling for 2 years but left my listings up to slowly sell away - never a glitch.
I’m in MP one month, just sold a single item, and already have a late shipping ding. Didn’t realize I’d sold something for 4 days. Luckily, customer was understanding.
BTW, there are several threads about this exact problem on the boards.

There used to be an option to omitt receiving sold emails from eBay. Not sure how to reinstate it but there must be a way.... most likely somewhere in preferences and how the account is set up.

If you plan to continue to sell on Ebay it is a MUST that you be more proactive. Never rely on email for Ebay communication or sales status. ALWAYS log in at least once a day to see your info.

Maybe email notification never failed for you in paypal.......but I can guarantee you there were many complaints on these boards about not getting one.........email is simply not 100% reliable.
I don't understand why people can't bookmark the sold page.....which makes a one click check to see if they've sold anything..........
