@bashort

That's really nice. You have more storage space than I do.

I need to move inventory more quickly, for lack of space.

That's like Long tail WITH extensions on steroids!!!

I think many Sellers have a few of those "oldies but goodies" ... I've had a few but when sales started to decline in early 2022 I've moved some older items off the site to sell elsewhere.  I haven't checked lately but I don't think I have much over 2 years old right now.

Yes, but the important thing is they are sold.    It's not how long it took to reach the summit, it's you did.

Many years ago a dictator send his friends instead of the countries athletes to the Olympic games.  Since none of them were athletes, none won any events.  However one guy entered a race and did not make it across the finish line until two and a half hours after everyone else.  But he finished the race I give him credit for sticking with it.

You beat our three best -

200 plus 'the plastic part' of hotel keys from three long gone places here in town - took six years

400+ DAV key chain license plates - from same person - five years.

8000+ radio statin top 40 handout from the 60s - still have a few left seven years later.

Congratulation.

Look at it this way:  It took you 13 years, 6 months and 10 days to get rid of 2/3 of them.  And only one day to get rid of the remaining 1/3.

Congrats on that sale, awesome.

I sell items every month that have been out there 8 years. I expect if I live another 6 years, I might break your record.

I can't beat that record, but I have had the occasional sale of some obscure item that's been listed for years and years. It always takes me by surprise.

CUSTOMER: "Hi, I'd like to buy this."

ME (suspiciously): Why? 🤔

I Have an item I started selling in 2010.

one thing that happens with long tail is that something that you priced 13 years ago has now been heavily discounted by inflation, its like a automatic mark down manager

I sold a whole bunch of my old stock during the supply chain disruptions caused by covid.

Low demand, but the listing is on auto-pilot and it's still good for a couple sales per month.
