trying to get better at selling and saw that people said you should have free returns on. I tried changing things but don't think I did it right because it still says no returns.

@lukdudle How to set up your return policy.
And incidentally, there are people who say you MUST have free returns - no, it's up to you, and I would use them advisedly. Depending on what you sell, that can be an expensive to maintain. But as I say, it's entirely up to you - you can try it out and if seems to work, great, if not, you can go to 30-day buyer pays returns (for everything but SNAD).

I don't do free returns. It doesn't make sense to me. Is what you are selling such that you have to offer a free 30 day return to entice them to buy it? I want any potential buyers to realize if they buy a car part from me, they need to be certain that they have properly diagnosed the issue in their car because I test what I sell.
I just don't get why people offer free returns. If stuff gets damaged in shipping, you should be able to verify that it's your old item/buyer's recently received item by looking at certain identifying marks (works alot in used parts due to item flaws).
Offering returns is up to you. Personally I choose not to and find it works well for me. I'm not funding return shipping unless I absolutely have to because I want something back.... way too expensive and again.... I don't get why anyone would offer it.

maybe what I was reading didn't apply to car parts as well as other items. I haven't sold too much yet so I was trying to figure out what I am doing wrong.

You may not be doing anything wrong. Do you really need to offer free returns on headlights or tail lights? If you test the items out electrically, which you can do with a 12v battery (and it is a good idea to show them working in the photos), then the only time you should accept a return is if it stops working within a set period of time you specify, such as 30 days (this should really only be for LED type bulbs, not the type they can replace).
Also, you probably want to buy some small vinyl destructible warranty tags and a second type of warranty tags. Also some uv ink pens. Keep your buyers honest. Don't show the photos of this stuff, simply mention in the listing that you will place one or more small warranty tags out of sight prior to shipping.

If you offer "free returns" on car parts it will be like a "lending library". And you would get stuck paying all the return shipping and parts may be damaged in transit.
Free returns is only a good deal "for the sellers" if you have items that nobody want to return.

Absolutely true. Some people cannot properly diagnose a fault and they'll buy an amplifier when what they really need is a new stereo. Do you really want to send out a working Amp only to get it back and be told it doesn't work?

Why should I trust that you test what you sell?
What is your experience?
Do others know more than you?

@lukdudle - you could do a little research, first - find what other car parts sellers are doing and try to gauge what seems to be standard practice in your area. Or you can go in a step-wise manner and start with 30 days buyer pays returns and see how it goes. Free returns works fine apparently for people in markets where returns simply aren't much of an issue, and if you find it's not much of an issue with your items, you could move to that if you think it'll boost sales. I sell clothing so free returns would be kind of nuts, but I offer hassle-free 30 day returns, and believe having a return policy is a good idea. Most people are honest.

To answer your question
1. On your overview page, hover your mouse over the greeting Hi (your first name) !
2. Click on Account Settings
3. Got Selling (in Bold font)
4. Go to Selling Preferences
5. Go to Business Policy. and click on the high lighted in blue return on the line near the top Right side that reads -
All buyers like and expect a return policy - just like they get at Walmart and most other stores. I suggest you offer a 30 day return policy and the buyer pays the return shipping applicable for remorse reasons - like it doesn't fit or their dog accidentally ordered it w/o their permission. Of course, people like "free" returns. like some of the major sites offer. But you don't have to give away the store. You can pick 14 day policy but it is best to match the 30 day buyer protection in eBays Money Back Guarantee IMHO.. Always had a return policy when I was selling on eBay but never a free return - never had an issue. Followed a - customer 1st policy of when in doubt do what is right in my 4 decade + selling career. yeah there are people that want to get something for nothing (legally and illegally) - that has been going on since the beginning of time. It is all in the game of selling and in love or lust*
