You don't have to set up a tax table for PA.    They have the "market facilitator" law wherein the markeplace....ebay.... collects and distributes the tax to the state.........

STOP !  You do not need to do any of that work.

As long as you sell, through eBay, all of the items you have listed for sale on eBay, eBay does all of that for you.
In fact, eBay is required to do all of that for you and for all U.S. sellers.

The Marketplace Facilitator Laws require the marketplace facilitators to do all that work.
And eBay is a Marketplace Facilitator.

All I  would say you need to do is be aware that the sales tax paid by your buyer is subject to eBay's Final Value Fees (FVFs) which are usually 12.9%, but might be more or might be less depending on the kind of product.  And you should also be aware that some states do charge sales tax on the cost of postage/shipping from your Pennsylvania home to, say, Texas.

Thank you very much for your reply to my .  I live in Pennsylvania and eBay was taking the 6% sales tax from every sale I made until mid-July.  From mid-July until now thery have not taken sales tax from anyt of my sales.  That is why I tried to set up a tax table last night, but I was unsucessful.

There is no 6% sales tax on every sale. The sales tax is determined by the location of the buyer, and can range from 0.00% to 12.5% depending on their location.

It is possible that your recent buyers are

A. In a non sales tax state

B. Have resellers (exemption) certificates on file

Regardless of the buyer's status, SALES TAX COLLECTION (in PA) is the responsibility of ebay....not you....

so, as @monroe67  posted-you do not need to setup sales tax tables....

I read that MISSOURI is going to have some changes that only affect them in 2023. That is something they will have to attend too, not you in a different state.

C. Purchased an item that is not taxable in their state.  For instance, many states do not tax clothing.

There are  some states that have zero sales tax -

Sales tax generates revenue for state-wide operations, but five states currently do not impose a state sales tax including Alaska*, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.  i believe Alaska allow  a municipality  sales tax.  We  have county  sales tax or state tax is 4% we  pay 7% total on many items (non food items generally)

No.

EBay was charging your customers sales taxes based on where the purchase was sent.

The amount of the tax varies from state to state.

The buyer included the amount of the sales tax in their payment.

EBay/Managed Payments charges their fees on the TOTAL amount of the buyer's payment.

So if you make a $100 sale with Free Shipping to a state where sales tax is 6%, your buyer will pay $106.00 and your FVF (at 12.9%) will be $13.67.

And if you make a $100 sale with Free Shipping to a state where sales tax is 10%, your buyer will pay $110.00 and your FVF (at 12.9%) will be $14.19.

From mid-July until now thery have not taken sales tax from anyt of my sales.

Some states, like Oregon, do not have a sales tax.

The amount of the tax can be seen on your buyer's invoice.

My eBay->Selling->Orders->All Orders-> View Order Details

One reason eBay gives for including sales taxes in calculating our fees is that having a correct and up to date tax table, charging and remitting sales taxes , is a valuable service they provide.
