So i sold a set of 47 ford headlights to a buyer through the global shipping center. day after i sent the item the seller writes me, oh i forgot to tell you to put decorations on the customs label because in Israel the country won't let them recieve stuff that is electronics even car parts he said. i told him it was already sent to global shipping and i have not control over the customs details. i would not lie on there either. he said that it will never get by customs if its labeled headlights. well today he put a case on me item not received. i look at tracking and item said it cleared customs but is now on hold by the government , that's what it says on the tracking details. i called ebay and they said i was covered under the global shipping protection for that, guy wont message with me at all. would like to see him receive it but what he heck, i feel like he's done this before. i read his feedback and he's left some nasty stuff because of his inability to follow his country rules for import. ebay said they are lifting the hold which was a lot of money, in the next 48 hours. i got a feeling he is going to take this out on my feedback. well i guess i'm just looking for other people experience in this situation, maybe i have to put a stop to global shipping as almost every issue i had has been with global, kinda stinks cause i get several global shipping sales a week.

keep it simple for all you confused folks
customer opened case
ebay held the money
i called ebay
they released the money in my favor
then ebay refunded the customer on ebays dollar or global shipping's dollar
i did not have to lose any money
guy was refunded and item was released from customs
i was protected by eBay's global shipping policy, i shipped to enlarger kentucky and after that ebay is responsible.
guy is most likely getting the item and a full refund, yes he was refunded but he has not received the item, i am just saying he is most likely getting both because item is out for delivery.

I don't ship to Israel. Their postal and customs system is very poor and they are in a war zone.
If you shipped with the Global Shipping Program, your responsibility for delivery ended at the plant in Erlanger KY.
If you used the new eBay International Shipping, it's a mess, doesn't save much money, and you remain responsible for delivery. There a lot of complaints about it on the eBayCanada boards. (We also detest the GSP but for other reasons.)

the money is already back in my balance and the guy was fully refunded. This guys knows what he is doing. of course i looked one more time at the tracking # and now is not on hold anymore it's in route with there delivery service. glad i got my money but he is going to get the headlights and a refund most likely. its only been 30 days since sale. its only two days past the expected delivery date. we will see what he leaves for feedback hopefully none. though 20% of his feedback left for others is all negative and neutral.
i only use the global shipping people ask all the time or don't even ask about shipping to there country just buy and ask after, only to find out that his country is not on the GSP list. i have it set up now to ship only to countries listed never noticed that before.
i only use it because i am only responsible for it to kentucky and the fees on shipping heavy items is insane on most international orders and the way they take the fees out of the total sale would kill profit. like if i sold something for 75 bucks cost me 30 to ship local but 250 to ship to another country they take the fees out of the 70 plus 250 thats 320 that would be feed. on managed payments its like 13.2 percent i think and would be more than half the cost of the item plus i buy these items and resell so what profit would there be if we did not have global shipping center( even how awful it is). lesson learned no more shipping to Israel anymore.
this guy new and did not mention that it would be held at customs till after i shipped.

Perfect example of a buyer not communicating ahead of time with the seller.

Why on earth did you refund? That should be a last resort because eBay is forcing the issue. Otherwise you should always wait until item is returned, or in this case shakes loose of customs and off to the buyer.

Israel is famous for this. What happens is customs is holding it for 25% or whatever VAT. Buyer will open an 'item not recieved' case. It will sit in customs. You will lose the case because it wasn't delivered. Then the buyer will go and get his item out of customs.

well today he put a case on me item not received. ...the money is already back in my balance and the guy was fully refunded.
Sorry? What do you mean?
Did you refund him?
Did eBay give him a courtesy refund?
Did GSP refund him?
With an eBay dispute, if you can prove delivery to Erlanger KY, you are not responsible for the rest of the transit.
With GSP, he paid customs and sales taxes, before you were even told to ship.
In other words, you are not responsible for a Not Received Dispute.
With a Not As Described dispute, you are allowed to demand return shipping.
And you only pay for return shipping from Erlanger. He pays the rest.

Do you not read stuff fully or not know how ebay works with cases, i did not refund him ebay did and took the money from me. he opened a case and whenever there is a case open ebay put the money on hold. but i got it back cause i shipped it to the global shipping center and after that its eBay's responsibility.
i definitely would not refund someone cause of a couple days late. this guy is scamming the system.

So global got caught in this one:
You got your money and the buyer got refunded.
Is that correct?????

since it was a global shipping case, when the case is first set up buy the buyer ebay put the funds on hold, i called up ebay they released the funds to me. they also refunded him fully on ebays dollar not mine, my responsibility is to get to to the global shipping center and i did after that is eBay's responsibility. thats why ebay released the money to me. regardless if it is a global or not that still lock the money till i respond. i contacted ebay and the closed the case in my favor. but if i go to the listing it shows that ebay refunded him the amount he paid.
the customer never contacted me once or responded to my messages after i told him that the item was sent already. he just opened a case a couple says after the expected date of delivery. never asked me to help find the package or anything he is working the system.
you basically answer your own question in your response. please read stuff fully

yes correct. he is scamming global shipping. item is out for delivery now. i looked at the details and he was fully refunded but i got my money in full.
i don't understand how all these other people that responded don't understand what is going on. one guy i like why would you refund him other guy too.
