Many of us sellers have followers ( I have @ 295 at this time) but who they are ...names are not shown to  sellers...Why?

I believe we have the right to know who is following our business...there may be people we don't want to do business with...others who have their own agenda not pertaining to us

I spoke to a nice eb rep but she was unable to answer me ...she would  send in my request but could not follow up as her questions are not answered...I asked her to request eb follow up with me but no response...aslo tried to put Followers in the label box but was informed "Not Available' had to use buyers

I suspect it is so sellers are not tempted to message them.

Several years ago, we could see who our followers, but we can't now.  Probably because eBay doesn't want us to send them offers or spam and tick them off.  I have seen buyer accounts only with followers.  Why...who knows?!

@hushoff

I'm not sure why you care who follows you. If someone buys and pays, ship the item. It doesn't matter if they're following or not.

Followers may be people who like the categories of items you sell.

Followers may be who sell the same types of items and want to watch what items you have and what they sell for.

Followers may be people looking for a particular item, see you have 1 and want to keep their eyes on it.

Competition.
I follow my competition so that I can easily search their items and prices and then do whatever I can to make their selling life miserable.

People don't need to follow you to have an agenda or be someone you don't want to sell to. Just as likely they like what you sell and want to be informed when you have something new. I would be going with the glass is half full and that people like what you sell instead of half empty they just want to harm you.

You may not know who they are but Ebay stores include a Store Newsletter function so that you can contact them.

I have never used it, but I have been thinking of learning how to use it.

I treat followers like I do watchers, it's just a number, doesn't mean anything to me.

Have a great day.

@kensgiftshop Just don't turn around quickly or you'll run into those followers!

They can just bookmark your store and have same effect without being followed.

My thought is that there are probably 5,000 postcard sellers on ebay with large stores.  6332 postcards sell per day on ebay. Roughly 3 and a half of of them are yours. I just couldn't think of a reason any of your competition would have any reason to care about what is going on in your store. Your specialty is just too spread out for any one seller to matter.

And if I did care about what a specific competitor was doing I would bookmark their store, and not "follow" it.
