Did you mean:

estimated delivery

I was going through my recent orders and leaving FB for my sellers when I noticed that something I ordered 2/8 had an estimated delivery of today, 2/11. It's not even in my state yet. I certainly do not expect it to arrive so quickly, so why does Ebay? Usually Ebay asks if delivered on time which invites someone to say "no" even when unfair.

Not news to most of you I guess but I was still surprised.

ebay does do a lot of dumb things to try and make sellers look bad.

I guess eBay thinks it will arrive on the date they are showing because they have Millions of transaction data that says delivery will more than likely happen on this date when considering

  • service used,
  • seller handling time
  • seller location to buyer location
  • and the historical data

Good Luck Selling!

And yet, on the first page of the community, the boards mention that there may be delays in shipping due to the weather across the country. I wonder how many buyers check the community's front page to just check on random updates.

Every priority label I print says either 2 or 3 day delivery and that comes from the PO, not ebay.............

Shipped one item today.  At the top of the shipping page it said:

"Your buyer expects to receive this by Thursday, February 14, 2019."

Bottom of the page, USPS said all methods of Priority Mail were estimated to be delivered by:  "Feb 15"

Did it ship from the same location stated on the listing? Did it ship using the same shipping service stated on the listing? Did the seller ship within their stated handling time?

If the answer to all of those questions is yes, then it's probably a weather or carrier delay.

eBay's dates are estimates based on tracking history for millions of shipments. It's not always going to be right and I don't think they take weather into account.

Good night and good luck
