Did you mean:

ending a listening

Hi,

I am trying to "end" some listenings where the books are not selling. When I click on "end" I am brought to a page in German (which is not my native language in any way) which says to make sure I am getting into Ebay through their homepage and not a bookmark and that the page might not be available anymore. How do I end listings that I don't want up anymore?

I have tried on multiple browsers (Micrsoft Edge and Google Chrome) and multiple devices (namely computers and a Chromebook). I have cleared cache to ensure that I was being logged out and that I was logging in properly.

The message when I try to end it in English says "

Page Not Responding     The eBay page or feature you are attempting to access is not responding.
Please try the options below:

  • Try to access the feature directly from the eBay Home Page, instead of using a bookmark.
  • Wait a few minutes and try to access the feature again.

If you have waited ten to fifteen minutes and you still can't access your page:

If what you are looking for is unavailable, you may still be able to access other parts of the site from the eBay Home page "

Earlier the message was slightly different implying that the page no longer existed as well.

Thank you.

Re: ending a listening

@psa368 This may sound like a silly question, but are you definitely on the ebay.com site and not the ebay.de site?

Re: ending a listening

@psa368

Did you by any chance click on any links on the boards,

or view an item from Germany ?

A bit back someone posted a link to an ebay help page.

It took me to ebay France, and on my next login, boom back to France.

It was a PITA to get back to the USA site.

Re: ending a listening

Not silly at all! I did make sure I was going into Ebay my usual way (I live in USA) and it ends with .com for me. It translated over to the .de ending when I tried to end the listings, which has never occurred for me before. @copper.boom

Re: ending a listening

I am not doing the aution style but the usually "fixed price" style @partial*eclipse so that way won't work for me. But thank you.

Re: ending a listening

Hi @sockmonkeydave, I've never viewed an item in German before or ever visited the German Ebay site before. So not sure why my page went there.

Okay, so you are starting on .com and being redirected to .de. I know you said you cleared info upthread, but do it again.

Clear cache, clear cookies, clear browser history. If any of your eBay passwords are saved through your browser, delete them. Do this for all of your browsers. Then reboot your computer.

Hopefully that fixes it.

Re: ending a listening

Hi @copper.boom, For some reason ending listings seem to work in an incognito browser on Chrome (via a Chromebook). I will then also clear cache for cookies and browsing history and reboot.

Re: ending a listening

Hi @copper.boom,

So I tried what you suggested and made no difference (and when I logged back onto Ebay I even unchecked the box that says keep me signed in). But if I ending the listings on an incognito browser that still works just fine for me.

@psa368 Did you also try the signinalert link above?

Re: ending a listening

I logged out of everything on the list given then try to end a listing and did not occur (and that page in German showed up again). But at this point, even though it is not nessacarily fixed at least it works on incognito browsers. @copper.boom

I will now make sure everything is logged out, then clear cache (browser history and cookies), then repoot the computer. This Chromebook also only has one type of browser on it (Google Chrome is the browser).

Re: ending a listening

@copper.boom I tried logging out of everything on the link you gave me, then cleared cache (and the things that are associated with that), then rebooted the Chromebook, came back onto the internet, only went to www.ebay.com and logged in (through the sign in tab and make sure box was unchecked for remaining logged in) then tried to end a listing, which at that point the page in German showed up. So at this rate, only somehow incognito browsers will work for me.

Re: ending a listening

I'm glad you have a way to make it work. I would still call CS to report this issue. If you get a report in then at least it can help in case others call in with the same problem.
