A lot of ebayers like myself have multiple accounts. One for selling and one for buying. Why? Because when a buyer see 500+ feedback and a 100% rating they can be assured all those feedback are from buyers. Instead of if I had one account with 400+ feedback as buyer and only 100 as seller it give false narrative to a buyer and flip side true as a buyer acocunt. ebay policy says you can have multiple account each account must follow ebay rules ant not violate any. What ebay doesn't tell you is if you violate or abuse policy on one account and ebay restricts that account or shuts it down, then your other account is also restricted/shutdown. I think this bad policy. Every account should be treated separately. I may be an awesome seller with no uses and above standard selling record, but my buyers account may have too many cases opened because not all seller are like me (OG ebayer) and it gets on ebay's radar and voila both my account will be closed. Nothing saying this has happened to my accounts but though I'd put it out there. I am not a big volume seller, just a individual who uses ebay to sell stuff I no longer want (this was ebay was originally founded on, I remember ebay tv commercial showing getting stuff out of your closet an selling on ebay). ebay has almost abanded to OG sellers in favor of high volume sellers.

eBay rarely closes accounts for too many cases opened as a buyer, unless they detect fraudulent activity on the part of the buyer. They typically just tell the buyer that they're no longer covered by the MBG.

I disagree. I don't want bad buyers or bad sellers to get away with ripping people off by just creating multiple accounts.

"What ebay doesn't tell you is if you violate or abuse policy on one account and ebay restricts that account or shuts it down, then your other account is also restricted/shutdown.
The Help page that describes eBay's policies about multiple accounts says: " in some cases where a member has two accounts and one becomes suspended, their second account may also be subject to restriction."

Nope:
Treat them as one and toast em all when they misbehave so they can not do it again....
I agree with eBay on this...

Is this what happened to you? Did you get sanctioned on one account, and then found your other accounts suffered the same fate?

They do tell you that.
In fact, they tell you that right on the Multiple Account policy page:
"Please note that in some cases where a member has two accounts and one becomes suspended, their second account may also be subject to restriction."

I think this bad policy.
I think this is a great policy. Otherwise, every bad seller could just create a new account and wipe the slate clean. I don't want bad sellers to be able to avoid the consequences of being a bad seller.

And anyone that uses your system to access their account or uses your WIFI, their account can be shut down also.
