ebay really needs to start going after the people listing a $5 pack of toilet paper for $60! they are trying to rip people off! last i talked to ebay they were considering not allowing it like they did with the hand sanitizer for this very reason! I think it just goes to show what a sad state this country is in when people do stuff like this

I do not go shopping often, but was out 3 times this week. Not in a buying panic, just things that I had to do.
Monday drove to Wally to get some coaxial cable to attempt to get our satellite TV back up. Also bought a package of salad, and a heavy shirt on drastic clearance.
Many cars in the lot which is common. The store did not seem crowded, but there were many employees stocking shelves. One thing that I did notice was a young lad (well compared to me) stocking bottled water.
I did not really think much about people buying it as much as the fact that the employee was carrying 1 package down the aisle to place it on the shelf, and then repeatedly walking back to the pallet to carry one more package down the aisle again. Each time placing it on the shelf, and looking at the space possibly to decide if another could be place there. Wally need to do some time, and motion studies.
I again went to town, and stores on Tuesday as my wife had an essential medical appointment. Returned an item to Wally. Picked up a 1/2 gallon of milk, and 2 boxes of brownie mix that were on sale. Went to another store for chicken thighs. Got the last package in the case. I believe that was because they were "on sale" this week. Also grabbed 18 eggs for $1.49. On sale. Got an "on sale" theme going here, but that is how I am. Things that we know we have a continuing need for I snag when they are on sale if possible. Really saw no panic shopping.
Fast forward to Thursday. Off to town again. This was actually a trip for my brother. Right now he is physically unable to haul his garbage, trash, and recyclables to the transfer station, so I went to take care of that.
A little more shopping as I was close to stores.(30 + mile round trip for small town. 80+ for city shopping) Cookies on sale. Cereal on sale. Salad dressing on sale. More salad. All items available. I did go to a Dollar General for some juice, and did not an elderly lady (more elder than me) ahead in the line purchasing TP. paper towels, and bottled water.
3 trips out in 1 week for odds, and ends. Unusual for me. Often not out for 2 weeks at a time, but not panic shopping. Just because I was out for other reasons.
Good thing this week was that I did get my wire to postpone going to get her nails done, and reschedule her hair appointment. She is elderly with COPD, and chronic bronchitis. She needs to stay home. Also trying to get her to delay some other non life threatening medical apps.

Perhaps not, but when you are in the age danger zone and have decided to ride it out at home, TP is very necessary. It's like having adequate food on hand, it will also not protect from a virus, but you need it to live.
It amazes me that things that did not exist 150 years ago, some people now consider essential to survive. I just don't know how mankind managed to live for so long before the invention of toilet paper.

That's a bargain. There is a new listing of Dollar General TP 4 pack for a million dollars.

Just what I was posting!!
However, a Sears catalog can sometimes get a good price on eBay!!
Sell it instead.
Price gouging??
Im thinking of those little pinprick things my mom used for diabetes.
Thats price gouging.

Just keep on reporting its going to take a week or so before the AI algorithm can catch on but you can help by manually reporting

I have plenty of TP, and would never price gouge on it. I would let you have some for free if supplies were scarce. I would, however, rent you my bathroom for 15 minutes for $1200... TP included.

Haha, my thought exactly.
Walk into a Mopar dealer and tell them you want a new Hellcat for 10,000 under sticker.
Its supply and demand, and ebay has no credibility when it comes to ethics!

People used their own hands for centuries.

Some think it okay to gouge toilet paper. TP is not an out of production, 60 year old collectible item. It is a product that everyone needs. Some are buying out all the TP to gouge others. It would be the same if you had a medication you always needed and paid $20 for it. Then someone was able to buy out all the medicine you and millions of others needed and you have to pay $400 for it which you can not afford. You need this to live your life. Ebay is contributing to this, knowingly. Not only this is a problem on Ebay but the liars, cheats and fake products that others push on their site. I bought and sold here for years until 5 years ago. It is worse then ever on Ebay. One of the TP sellers has less then 90% rating with 10 negatives in about 100 sells. I sold over 1000 items with 1. I will have none of this nor purchase from this site ever again. ebay knows they are gouging, we know it and so does everyone else. Enough said.

If it is listed auction style and people bid on it, then I don't know how that is price gouging. Auctions start at .99 and go up from there, it is the people paying these prices for the toilet paper. let them do what they want to do with their money really nobody else's business!
