ebay policy for listing empty whiskey decanters

Ebay has now gone against its own policy and now supposedly requires PROOF of an empty bottle, which apparently your pictures should show the inside of the decanter being empty.  I had 2 ebay staff and 2 supervisors explain the picture of empty container thing stating it is in their policy.  **bleep** - ebay policy clearly states the selling a container that it must be empty.  That is why we as sellers put on our listings that it is "EMPTY".  The supervisor even said to me, " how are we supposed to know it is empty without a picture of the inside?"  Let me ask you ebay staff...where can you get a bottle of whiskey from back then for just a few dollars And what do you think we sellers do?  fill it before we ship it?  Ebay already has a computer that flags a bunch of listings, how about you put that computer to use and hire some competent staff that is seller friendly not outsource it to places that calling will get you nowhere!!!  Frustrated with how uncaring ebay now is.  19 years buying and selling on ebay, for this???!!!  Why not just let your call go to a voice message that says, "we can't help you."  then hang up on me, instead of being on hold for half hour then hung up on by the philippines call center!!!!!!

There are no supervisors that you really spoke to. A pile of folks in a room that know very littel. Sadly, everything you were told and are now upset about, really wasn't correct. 

Try ebay for business on facebook and see if you can get a clarification. You have to 'send' a message, then they will get back to you with you 'signing in' so they can look at your account. They sometimes take hours to get back to you, so leave the page open and check back often.

Perhaps not using words like that are related to alcohol might help in title and description. Buyers are going to know what a decanter is without the words of alcohol or whiskey and such. Mailing of anything with such wording is against the law. We can see an empty decanter by a photo. ..and true buyers will know what you are selling. There are some really cool looking decanters out there by the way. I work in the liquor retail environment. There are still laws from the prohibition area of some states where mailing alcohol from one state to another prohibition state is against the law. Drop the word(s) whiskey or anything that of alcohol. Example, if I have a pile of clothes I want to mail to someone in the USA and got a box from my nearest liquor store and the outside box says Grey Goose Vodka on it....and I only put clothes in it and state to the USPS I only have clothes in it...it is against the law to mail such a box with just the words on the outside box showing such words. This has nothing to do with eBay. Buyer needs to sign for something that has alcohol and it's hard to prove you're over 21 years of age or know what's in the box. I hope this makes sense.

What next ! Proof you actually shipped out an empty container & didn't accidentally ship one filled with whiskey in error ?

Last week I sold a clear glass decanter (empty). If there had been vodka in it, I don't know if a photo would have showed it. And there are a lot of decanters that look like people or cars or other objects that you can't see through. I don't know how a photo could show it was empty. I suppose one could take a photo of the decanter lying on it's side with the top off, but that could just be a photo that was rotated.

   My Lovely Husband ships all my orders & 1 day he calls to tell me the box they can not ship cause it had beer wrote on it. He brought it back & I placed duct all over the words it was good to go then. I never new that till that happened to me😊

As the last picture:

Use one of the pictures of the decanter without a discernable top or bottom background and the decanter without a stopper. Post the picture flipped 180 degrees. The bottle is obviously empty as any liquid would pour out.

Explain in the description the LAST PICTURE DISPLAYS THE EMPTY DECANTER. 🙄

EBay has a New Video option to add a Video of you drinking that bottle! Tip it up to you're mouth and suck it dry. Show how bombed you are so there is no mistake.
