In ebays constant march toward more profits. they have eliminated all practical customer service . Have been selling for over 18 years on ebay. I have seen a good customer service ,degrade into outsourced 3rd world reps that have no knowledge or power to actually help you with an issue, and a supervisor is simply the person sitting next to them .It's getting worse. ebay sends messages like they want to help sellers ,but in reality they care nothing about the sellers that pay the bills , it is only about buyers.

Everyting is sunneeee Joe. At least these days we can close cases without getting defects. In the old days that took up a lot of yelling and screaming over the phone 😄

Get in touch with eBay's customer service reps via Facebook or Twitter instead.

Ebay customer service is good. They have a chat option that has work wonders for me also on the phone the wait time is very minimal. But yes, a training a rep has can vary and it can dramatically change your experience. There are some reps that don't have full knowledge but for 80% matter they are good for the 20% you might have to go higher up. The higher up one will send you message on ebay there is no direct contact to them. So for me ebay has been good I used to call them now I just use chat option. Saves me time and I can do things in the background while chatting.

What if you don't used Facebook or Twitter? There is no more chat option and the callback option is anywhere from 40 minutes to 3 hours to never.
Is there any information about Ebay actually providing REAL customer service in the near future? Ebay shill responders and cheerleaders need not reply to this message.

I've been calling it "Customer No Service."
It's not just eaby, it's everywhere.
BIG open door for the small entrepreneur wanting to get going in business.

I call it customer dis-service these days. All larger companies are all but doing away with it. Long hold times, canned email responses, etc. Some major retailers figure if they ignore customers they'll chalk it up to "whatever" and keep coming back. Sooner or later we won't.

I don't normally use social media either, but did message recently on facebook and got a response really quickly. All f/u was thru my e-Bay account.
If you have a time-sensitive issue, messaging them on facebook does work.
We had to do the call back option yesterday afternoon. Wait time was about 8 min. 1st call was a dud. 2nd call resolved issued.
Takes a lot of patience to get to the right person.

Completely agree and I feel like that's my biggest issue with Managed Payments. It's not about being scared to give out my social security number/bank account, it's the fact that eBay's customer service sucks!! Who would feel comfortable giving that information to a company you can't even get a straight answer from?? I have no problem giving companies like Amazon, Poshmark, Mercari access to my bank account because I know if I truly have a problem I would be able to get it solved relatively quickly. With eBay you have to literally jump through hoops just to get a simple answer or response. It shouldn't be this hard.

eBay in a nutshell:

eBay and it's customer service is stumbling and tumbling down the drain, even more so than this senile demented creature: 😂
