I sold an item and within 12 hours of receiving the order, eBay cancelled the order..I received an email from eBay stating the buyer was "not registered on eBay" and they had cancelled the order..Now nearly a month later this order is negatively affecting my metrics. It shows I cancelled the order...which is NOT true. I contacted eBay and received a response that they agreed with me and the the cancellation should not be counted against me since I did not cancel the order.....BUT IT STILL IS! Anyone else have this happen? Any advice on this would be appreciated 🙂

Welcome to the world of eBay. They are the wizzard behind the curtain in this land of oz, and can do whatever they want to sellers.

Contact eBay seller support to insure this matter will be taken care of .

How exactly is the order being counted against you? Did you receive a defect or ??

You have to hound them to remove the defect from your metrics. eBay messaged me nearly three weeks after a completed sale to advise that the buyer was not registered and not to ship. Great Job eBay.

Insist eBay put something in the resolution center that you can read that acknowledges this is their fault.
I had a defect for Cases Not Closed By Seller that was in reality closed by eBay, their fault, they admitted it.
I sent numerous messages and eventually settled for their comment in the case file it was their fault.
That at least gave me something to refer to if other cases piled up.
I waited several months for the defect to drop off of my seller metrics.
Somebody at a higher pay grade with a better password should have been able to delete the defect.

I have contacted seller support FOUR times and FOUR different reps have assured me the defect has been deleted and is not affecting my account...yet after 30 days it is still showing in my metrics...
each one tells me to wait 48 hours and the defect will disappear...yet it never does

yes, it is counting as a cancelled order...stating that I cancelled the order and was out of stock...which is NOT true. EBAY cancelled the order because the buyer was fraudulent. ALL of the reps agree EBAY cancelled the order and ALL of them have told me the defect has been removed...yet it is still there

You need to give us a little more information. How is this negatively impacting your Seller Dashboard / defects. Many of us here can help you we just need to know more about what you are seeing and where.
It is highly likely that you are just misunderstanding something. Which we ALL do from time to time. Let us know more info and we are likely able to help give you some stress relief, as we all have too much of that these days, so let us help you.

If you have called that many times and it's still there apparently those reps can't get the job done. They will say anythings to get you off the phone since resolving the problem is above their skill set. Perhaps one of the eBay mods can help you.
I have a return on my dashboard that was actually closed by the buyer because he was lying. He purchased the item and the next day messaged to cancel, but I had already shipped it. Then he attempted to return the item claiming it was damaged in transit. Although I knew he was lying, I sent him a message asking for pictures of the damage as I would need to open an insurance claim with the carrier, and that he needed to keep everything available for postal inspection. Instead he closed the return. I guess he didn't want to commit postal fraud too. I reported him to eBay but the return on my dashboard is there to stay. Frankly, this whole system of defects for out of stock or remorse returns is stupid. Not something brick and mortar stores do.

What was the timing of all this? When eBay removes defects it can take up to a week to reflect on your account since they update the defects on our accounts weekly - on Thursdays, if I'm not mistaken.

I had 2 different eBay reps told me the removals and defect updates happen on Wednesdays each week...this issue has been going since July 18 ( and yes as of today SEPTEMBER 2 it is still there)
I have pretty much come to terms that their seller support sucks. I am now up to 6 emails from 6 different reps all telling me the defect has been removed and they do not understand why it is still showing. OBVIOUSLY they are either 1. incompetent at their job 2. they are lying 3. eBay has an algorithm issue and they are not addressing it. Seems weird to me no one else has experienced this issue.

yes as a defect....it shows as cancelled "out of stock" which is not true
