ebay View Item Page Test----Is anyone else seeing THIS test?

NO listings within the View Item listing itself, 25 listings (5 rows of 5 each) BENEATH the listing (click to enlarge the screen cap):

ebay View Item Page Test----Is anyone else seeing THIS test?

Is no one else seeing this?

I'm still seeing this today.

I'm sure it is only a test, but I believe this is pretty much exactly what many people have said they want: The entire listing is at the top, with full description shown, NO interruptions for Promoted Listings...and the competing listings are below (and there are only 25 of them, not over a hundred.)

I know some would prefer that NO competing listings show , but we KNOW that isn't going to happen.

IF you have this, you might want to indicate in some way to ebay that you prefer this to a format that breaks up the actual listing.

Haven't seen that version yet. The layout is better but I would rather see the Sellers description in the space where it is showing seller feedback. A perfect page would be Item Picture and price at top, Item Specifics below that and Item Description below that. Anything else inserted anywhere else is just clutter.

Nope, I am not seeing this test. I tried both Chrome and Firefox, incognito, and signed in. I do like what I am seeing in your screenshots as far as the ad placements not breaking up the listing.

@steady2304

The screen cap I used doesn't show it very clearly, so let's try this one. As you can see, the order is Photos/  price, Item Specifics, Description , Feedback Module, and then the You Might Also Like listings. here's a screen cap that shows this a little more clearly:

@mcdougle4248  Yes, the order in which this stuff appears is what a lot of sellers have been asking for. Of course, since this is only a test, we don't know whether the final version will look like this, or like some unimaginable horror from the Twilight Zone.

One thing I noticed: the "feedback module" seems larger than in other versions....maybe because they've added Detailed Seller ratings? Is that new? It just seems to take up an awful lot of space for the limited amount of information it contains.

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques I'm still seeing one or two rows of PL ads above the description and then the 25 "you may also like" items below the feedback.

One interesting thing that isn't exactly new, but important to note - with all of the variations of tests I've seen, they have made the add to watch list heart icon more prominent on all of the other items being shown on the page.

I have screenshots of PL ads on listings from late 2022 that don't have the hearts, so previously they either weren't there at all or you had to hover over the item to have it pop up, and now the heart is showing by default with no hovering or other action needed.

Not sure exactly when it changed but would guess it was around March of this year when they updated ad attribution policy to include clicks adding items to watch lists.

So like I said, it's not exactly new but I think notable within the broader context of what eBay may be trying to do with these tests. As we've surmised with other aspects of the tests, it appears they are trying to figure out what converts well while keeping ad rev up.

It might just happen that presenting organic results that may appear to be more curated/personalized (You may also like) could be more attractive to buyers who would normally avoid explicitly labeled ads, but the design choice to prominently display the heart icon could prompt those buyers to add items that look interesting to their watch list to look at later...in which case there is still a possibility of eBay earning an ad fee if that item is in PL campaign and the buyer purchases within 30 days.

Ultimately I think the goal of all of this is they are trying to slice and dice things and get more granular about conversion and ad rev, which could go any way at this point, but hopefully when the new View Item page design is finalized it will be a more balanced approach to how ads are displayed on the page.

YES YES YES ebay- finally this resembles what buyers and sellers have been asking for forever!.  I dont have a problem with the feedback module because it looks like its just part of the larger picture with the other info and store buttons there....

Imagine if you were a buyer and could just see all the information like this with no clutter or distractions- you would just buy with confidence!

Great job-when can we push it to the whole site and get sales booming again?

I have no problem with the sponsored junk at the bottom either. That is where it should be. If someone truly wants to look at a different listing then they can scroll down further or hit the back button and go back to the search results.

Now all you must do is fix the search to show more organic and accurate results so buyers can see all the relevant options on the search page and hold on to your pants ebay- get ready for 4rth quarter bonusses as word gets around that ebay is back in the game.

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques I went back and looked at some screenshots I have and they've been showing DSRs there for at least a few months now.

Maybe they've just increased the spacing a bit or made the module larger?

@valueaddedresource That could be it. Or maybe it just looks larger to me. In any event, it seems like a lot of space for what it contains. If they are going to give us that much space, it would be nice if they gave us some ability to customize it

@siamjane8  Well, don't get too excited---this is just a test, just like all the other tests. No guarantee this will be the end result. But I agree, I think a lot of sellers would prefer this to what we have now. So, let's hope their test results show this is the best choice....

I can't help but get excited lol. This is the first design change in years that would be a step in the right direction. I don't see how the test results could not come back 100% better than the other design tests we have seen. The others were just different versions of the same crap... Mostly all PL destroying the continuity of the listing view.

This view makes me want to go on eBay and buy something just so I can give it a good review lol....  unfortunately noon of my accounts are seeing this view yet.

If this design is not finalized, then there is absolutely proof that eBay does not care about improving the platform at all and instead only wants add revenue. @my-cottage-books-and-antiques I am excited. I can't help it. Gives me a reason to list more. In fact I'm heading down to my shop to list more, even though I was not planning on it.  Hopefully eBay can realize the huge advantage to working with sellers instead of against them.  Politics always talks about exciting the base.... That is what eBay needs to do. And the base core of eBay is it's small business sellers! Get sellers excited about eBay, help then to sell instead of forcing them to bid against each other for views and just sit back and watch the site grow again!  It's simple really.

I did see that format on one of my items, albeit fleetingly, the other day.

So, the /see similar items/ promos are after our item description ... but what worries me is that big block of nothing under your photos. Hmm, is this is a future 'space for rent' where we can pay ebay to put a mosaic/photo carousel of our other items? And if we choose to not 'rent the space', will it hold other sellers stuff or diversionary ads of some sort? Also I wonder what the is the purpose of the big blue band.

Basically it's a par for the course format for mobile browsing--- scroll, scroll, scroll.

Hi @stuffygrotto

There's no "big blue band"---unfortunately, in the listing I chose for the first screen cap I posted , the seller chose a blue background for his "description box"....so what looks like a big blue band is, in fact, where the description text is shown (hard to see in the screen cap, but it's there). If you look at the second screen cap I posted, you'll see there's no "big blue band", because that's one of my listings, and I don't use a blue background for the description box.

As to the empty space beneath the photo gallery? Well, we know they've been testing what they call a "display ad" in the empty space on the opposite side...a new promoted listing type of ad they are working on which will advertise stores, and will be pay per click (like PLAs).  It's possible they are considering using the space beneath the gallery for something similar. No way to know, but I agree, my guess is they plan on filling it in with something at some point...

This morning, when I clicked on listings in the seller hub i was presented with this new interface and it showed zero listings. After refreshing a couple of times it went away. I hope it doesn't come back
