eBay to add Report option to messages

eBay removed the report link from messages so many years ago, but they'll be adding it back in, making it easier to report bad actors.

Friend sent me a screenshot from the eBay Seller Check-In that happened today.

I am a buyer, and it is on my eBay messages.  Or do you mean can a seller report buyers who send inappropriate messages?

I thought you are talking about report button being implemented for messages for sellers. My question is whether Ebay will give v]button to buyers to report sellers in conversations too?

In this post we were told that sending messages to buyers and having those messages CCed to our e-mail "will work on mobile as well" - this is not yet in effect. Mobile messages are not being CCed to e-mail and I can't find a box to check or setting to enable this on the app (iOS). Can you find out when it will be implemented?

Second question: when website messages transfer to the text-style streamlined message format currently used in the app, will those messages retain the ability to CC to our e-mails?

This is great news!  Though we'll have to see how many report us for not caving to their lower-the-price demands b/c they are sick/senior/buying as a gift/on a fixed income/bought it originally much cheaper/insert your own whiney entitlement-attempt du jour.   Yes, I suddenly have an influx LOL.

Yeah I saw the screen last night when I sent a message to myself using another account then hit the report button. I was surprised to see "unwanted" as an option.

If elizabeth@ebay is still reading: Would it be appropriate to report all the unsolicited low ball offers we get (for listings where offers are not enabled) using the "unwanted" reason or is that not part of the intent?

Not sure off the top of my head what else "unwanted" would be used for since the other reasons cover everything essential for both buying and selling. Well everything except spam, but you could select "other" for spam and fill out the comments.

Good morning @wastingtime101. The unwanted option is more targeted for messages that you do not want or have asked to stop that don't fit the other categories. Low offers are not a violation of our policies, so this would not be the best option for that scenario.

Sooo... I want to report a seller who just won't take the hint and stop messaging me.

Where is the report function? I don't see it in the old OR new interfaces.

Can we finally just get the function put in and LEAVE it, please? This really shouldn't be complicated. (And, frankly, the function should be a given.)

Well... I switched to my Android phone and found a report function there. So I reported the message there.

It's really counter-intuitive that the function is available in the mobile app but NOT the web interfaces. The experience should be the same across ALL platforms. I feel like this shouldn't need to be stated.

But here we are.

In the message you received there is a drop down menu called Actions. 
Click it to see Report message and Block member. Click both.
