eBay suspended my account and said it was indefinite for no reason.

I am a new seller but I've been a buyer for 5+ years. Over the past couple months I've sold 5-10 items. and I made 1 big item sale and they were holding the payment for 30 days which is no problem. But other listings were selling and I had a balance of -$100 because of ad fees and I didn't have a payment method linked that could pay the fees. I was expecting the listing sales to cover the fees. I woke up this morning and saw that my account was suspended and I added a payment method to cover fees and then I contacted eBay live chat and they said that my account was suspended indefinitely and there is nothing I can do or that they can do. All of my buyers have received their item and I've only had positive feedback so far as a seller. I don't know what to do because they still haven't paid out for multiple items that have been delivered and others that have been shipped out.

This was my profile:

And I can't even post in the community with it. I can't contact buyers. I can't do anything on the account anymore. They even blocked the account from contacting the phone lines and the customer service agent over chat were just plain rude about my account suspension.

@lnfs9530

Boy, sorry about this. Couple Q: did you square away your fees with ebay? What was that big sale? What exactly did ebay state ( reason) in the letter concerning your suspension? Did you ever sign up for managed payments as you stated " you didn't have a payment method linked"?

    There will be some posters here shortly and if you answer these questions and anything thing else you can add,  it would assist them more.

The big sale was a expensive Nikon camera that I bought for christmas on sale, but didn't need so I sold it for much lower than it retailed for. The letter didn't say much of anything other than mentioned to pay outstanding fees and resolving disputes (which I have no disputes). I had payout methods linked, but the payment methods I had linked didn't have the balance to cover any fees. I just linked a payment method today that would cover the fees, but they haven't charged it and when I go to pay in full for the outstanding fees balance it says that I owe $0.

I ended up calling over the phone to some random account specialist line and it instantly connected me to an agent and she was able to help me file an appeal and said that she didn't see anything wrong with my account. So I hope to hear back from them about the appeal on Wednesday.

I actually was selling items and undercutting another seller by a lot because I have a partnership with a company and I essentially copied the sellers description and I was getting sales fast. Could that seller have gotten mad and retaliated?

If you know you owe anything to eBay. Even 1 Penny.  I would not stop till you find them. I hope this is all thats wrong with your account. Good luck. Also make sure you are signed up for Managed Payments. This IS a MUST.

I’m confused. Isn’t mandatory to have a backup payment system in place?

@bearswatching... well, I am, too.

I even thought that eBay would send a seller's checking account into the negative to recover their fees, if needed. Hmmm...

You may have buried yourself. Ebay is unforgiving when it comes to their fees. Hoping sales would cover those fees is not realistic. Unforeseen issues could interfere with paying them, as you see. And you admit that your provided back up source was not sufficient. In addition, new sellers with pricey items being undersold will flag you as a risk. And copying another seller’s work is not a good reflection on you either. You are likely done here. Sorry.

Hi @bearswatching They did have a back up source:

I had payout methods linked, but the payment methods I had linked didn't have the balance to cover any fees.”

I would say that eBay gets suspicious when it sees new, expensive items being sold at very low prices. eBay usually would ask you for the invoices from the company you bought the items from.  Since they say the decision is final there is no point giving them these invoices.
