It's been a few years since I bothered with eBay. Covid extended my lack of selling so it's just been a while. I come back to find that PayPal is now a thing of the past. Ok, fine. I sell an item only to be told that I will receive payment directly to my account once the buyer has received my item. In what world does anybody mail an item without payment first? Oh, and then, after they've received it, it takes an additional 3 days to land in my account because of wire processing times.... WHAT HAPPENED TO EBAY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Paypal was such a much needed middleman for this platform. Instant payment is a must in any platform. eBay has made a vital mistake. We should see an emergence of a new platform soon to combat this penny smart and pound foolish mentality. Happens every time. I really thought eBay was smarter than this. Did they get a new CEO who thought he would fix something that was never broken or something?

They don't want any answers or any information. Just agree with the rant."

No, you can print a shipping label before funds are transferred from eBay (or more specifically Adyen) to your bank. As soon as eBay receives the buyer's payment and notifies you that payment has been received, you can print the shipping label. Your choices for purchasing that label are to either draw from the buyer's pending funds, or draw from your own PayPal account. (When buying the label from your PayPal account, you can choose between funding it from your PayPal balance or funding it from your associated bank account or credit card.)
You do not need to wait for the funds to land in your bank account before purchasing the label for shipping. While the funds may be held for a time by eBay/Adyen under certain circumstances, you are able to buy the label from those pending funds.

I'm not a seller, and haven't had the pleasure of signing up for Managed Payments personally, but I read these threads every day, so there's something to tell you that hasn't yet been mentioned. Before you get your money, you're going to have to provide proof of your identity. They'll ask for your Social Security Number, which is okay, they need it so they can track your money for the government. They'll also ask for things like copies of your driver's license, your passport, your high school transcript... Okay, not the transcript, I said that for effect, LOL. I'm telling you this so you won't get blindsided when it happens.

do you really accept crypto too?

The reason they're holding your funds is because you have no sales history on this account. If ebay just allowed every random joe to open accounts, sell stuff, and collect the money on the spot, scammers would be having a field day and buyers would be getting ripped off left and right.
If you want ebay to stop putting holds on your funds, then deliver on your promises to buyers, and eventually the holds will disappear.

Sellers on eBay mail items after receiving payment confirmation first. Semantics, I know, but........

Yes, I accept crypto... I'm glad you got your new ID worked out with Paypal. Now, what does this have to do with the current price of tea in China?

Just had him pay in Crypto. Thanks.

Yes, some of us are still shocked by such a move when we don't slowly get taken from bit by bit like some of you in the this group have for the last 5 years.. I would prefer your shipping label problem over mine any day but yes, seems like they have problems in all aspects these days.
A good solution for both of us would be to allow us to use pending funds that have been paid to them but not sent to us for other purchases on their platform.

See my user name. Problem solved.
20cents, instant payments, blockchain verified. This new system you speak of is actually dated, bloated and sickening.

Paypal was ugly too but the system of mediation after the fact was preferred by me over just simply putting that trust on eBay when they're just the middleman. The buy has paid. Send me that money immediately and I will ship out my item to you. If you don't like that item you can return it and I will send YOUR money back once MY item returns. Doesn't seem like the case these days.

Paypal still does that just like the old days on Ebay. Now instead of that happening on Ebay, it happens on our website since we accept Paypal 🙂 We just changed channels and eliminated the stress level 🙂
