eBay policies

recently eBay has demanded that every seller offer 3 month returns. they have also demanded that all sellers Take paypal . they are now tell us that we will no longer have PayPal ( a second chance at return disputes ) they wish to Now be in charge of all payments and credits. since they tell us what to charge, tell us how to ship, give us time limit on shipping and now wish to put a strangle hold on all payments and pay outs, shouldn't we be getting w-2 forms to fill out ?  I don't see where I work for myself any longer. it is clear I work for eBay. since I work a minimum of 45 hours a week selling on eBay. I would like my Insurance benefits and retirement status sent to me on a monthly basis. If they are going to tell us what we can sell. how much to sell it for. Than they are the employer, not a listing agent. Now, they want to be my banker too !

anyone else feel this way ??

I would ask for Holiday Pay, Sick Time and gas money for trips to post office too from eBay. Probably best not to hold your breath waiting for the check each month in the mail!!! Hmmm maybe they could pay you through PayPal? Hmmm, just spitballing here!!

No, no, no, you see, they aren't your employer, they are your partner - ask them, they will tell you.  And, they are a partner who knows what is best for you.

CA is suing Uber and Lyft to compel "employee" classification of their workers, so however unlikely, I wouldn't say it can't happen.

If ebay ever classifies sellers as "employees", I want stock options in lieu of vacation time.

If Ebay ever classifies sellers as "employees", I'm outta here.  If I wanted a boss, I'd go find a public job.

You are paying eBay to use their services, within their policies.  You have the choice to walk away if you want to.

Ebay has never "demanded" that sellers offer a 90 day return policy.  A few years back they tested that our for a Holiday Season.  Giving sellers incentives to offer the 90 day policy, but it was NEVER required of all sellers to do that and it was ONLY for that one Holiday season.  Since then Ebay dropped it and the program never has returned.  At least so far.

Ebay does NOT tell us what to charge for items.  They certainly recommend things all the time.  But recommendation does not = telling us we have to do that.  It is merely a suggestion that can be ignored or used.  Seller's choice.

Ebay also doesn't tell us "how to ship"  I honestly don't know where this is coming from.  Clearly you are not using your ability to make choices and only think that you have to do everything Ebay recommends.

You just need some time to clear your mind and then take another look at what and how you are handling your little business on Ebay.  You have choices.  If you choose to give those up to Ebay, that is a choice too.  But you are in control of many things here on Ebay.

There are of course many things we are not in control of.  The return process being a big one.  Many of us are trying to get Ebay to revise this policy as it is a big problem for sellers of all sizes and categories.

Something is likely happened recently that really upset you about Ebay that brought on your feeling of helplessness on Ebay right now.  If you'd like to share what that was maybe we can help you sort through it.  I know right now all of us are going through some tough times on and off Ebay.  So much happening in the world right now, so the feelings of being overwhelmed is certainly understandable.  I hope you will allow us to help you through this time.

When did this happen? There are sellers posting here who say they still offer "No Returns". And my returns are 30 days, not three months.
