eBay is not a seller platform! It is in fact a buyer platform! eBay policies support the buyer in any and all disputes. A buyer can purchase an item without ever asking any questions about the item. When they receive the item and change their mind about keeping it, they can open a return request with a lie and eBay will always take the buyers side. If the item is returned damaged, eBay will tell you they have no way of knowing how or when the damage occurred - the seller losses. The buyer does not have to have any proof to support their return request - the seller loses. eBay gives the seller lip service only and even, in some cases, hangs up on the seller when they try to explain their concerns - the seller loses!!
eBay is a buyer platform!! Not a seller platform!!

I am afraid as much as I like eBay for selling and buying, it is most certainly not an even playing field.
As a seller if this happens you can appeal to eBay's decision and be like a dog with a bone, keep at them.
Selling is definitely sucking a lot more these days ☹️

Yes, unfortunately, for quite some time now.
While this returns *stings - I try to go back and look at how many returns in what number of transactions. Only had 2 for all of 2020, a very low percentage. Hopefully your research on your sales reveals a low % as well.
E-Bay is going to side with the Buyer most of time. It bites for sure. We sell on the River and have since 2008 and they can return there for any reason (or no reason), so have became a little more used to the mantra. Doesn't mean I like it, but I do accept as a Seller, it is going to happen, regardless. Return ratio there trends close to 5%. Mostly because they can return for free, no fuss no muss. Really think that is where e-Bay is also headed. Hurts a smaller seller for sure.
Sorry, again. This has been kind of a rough week for sellers.

Correct.
And even after learning all that, it seems that most sellers - including you - continue to list items here.
