I've been a seller and buyer on eBay since April 2007 with over 800 transactions and a 100% positive feedback rate that has never had an issue that wasn't resolved in my favor. This week I sold a fly tying vice, the buyer opted the "but it now" price and made immediate payment. The only problem is, they're holding MY money. Whan I inquired in chat with a rep. I was told they treat us all like newbies since the recent changes and the split with PayPal. WHAT KIND OF WAY IS THAT TO TREAT A LONG STANDING MEMBER??? I supported eBay and have been active in eBay Mainstreet, advocating for small businesses and sellers. No more, eBay has become nothing but Amazon, supporting numbers instead of individuals.

Well the CSR was wrong, as usual, PP also held funds on new sellers. And since you havent sold anything in over a year, Ebay does consider you a new seller. Ebay prefers that any snad complaints and refunds come out of your pocket, not theirs. And positive fb does not release the funds either. If you read over the U/A that you agreed to, you can find more details about expected holds in there.

You haven't sold in awhile and you're considered a new seller.
Like it's been for awhile, they hold payments for new sellers.

That doesn't make it right, I sold less than a year ago with no problems and if people say "well, that's how it is" then they walk all over you. I've advocated for small time sellers and small business for years. People need to grow a spine and take a stand or get shoved to the side by big sellers and drop ship importers. If I wanted this I'd deal with Amazon. I'm not a new seller, I refuse to be treated like one.

Not seeing how complying with fraud prevention is 'walking all over you' - it's a condition of returning sellers. There is neither the time nor resources to treat each case individually, and as a fee-paying account holder, I wouldn't want to have to pay for doing it. I've sold considerably more than 800 items here and was a current seller when I started another selling ID, but patiently waited the 30 days until funds were released because I understand the necessity of vetting ANY new activity here. It was annoying but I didn't feel somehow abused.

A sense of entitlement doesnt fly on Ebay.

You might not think it's right, but it's their site and that's the way they want it.
Holding funds for new sellers isn't anything new, it's been like that since I've been here.
You might not be a brand new seller, but you are considered a new one and will be treated like a new one for a little while.

So, you're telling me I should just accept being thrown under the bus? That loyalty means nothing? And do you think I'm alone in this opinion? Take a look around, look here in the community pages, I have, I'm nowhere near alone. Consumer reports? Same thing. BBB? Ditto. What kind of business threats their best customers like trash???

For all eBay know your account may have been hi-jacked, they do this to protect your interests as well as the buyers, and whether you refuse to be treated like a new seller or not is ultimately eBay's call, not yours.
I take it you have signed up for managed payments as Paypal no longer process seller's funds.

I'm certain you can find people to agree with you on just about anything - it doesn't change the fact that you're trading on a huge platform that doesn't personally know you. They see an account starting to sell again after a hiatus - that's it. So the account is vetted. "Thrown under the bus" is a little dramatic. What if your account was hijacked and you got into trouble for it - would you be yelling: "I hadn't sold anything on this account in a YEAR - don't they check these things out, first??"

You haven't sold in over a year, but expect to be treated like a guy who walks in every day?
Yeah, millions of sellers and you think it was ever "individual"? Not in the 20 years I've been here.
Wait it out, you'll get your money. Really don't take that long.
