eBay once again forcing "Simplified View" for listing creation without thinking about consequences

Prologue:

I've previously railed on how terrible the modern listing tool is, and now eBay is making things worse by adding even more clicks before you can even start using that tool. (As an aside, the GSP on/off toggle is currently bugged. GSP is disabled even if the toggle shows it is enabled. You have to click it twice to turn it off then back on to work, meaning even more clicks to get around eBay's functionality. I guess eBay doesn't care much for international sales?)

---

Now onto the real news:

As of today, listing creation now defaults to the "Start your listing" page where you're forced to type out something, which inevitably leads to nothing (because if you're selling on eBay, you're probably selling stuff you can't sell elsewhere), which then forces you to choose a condition.

In some executive's bright mind, this is all very user-friendly. Very bright indeed.

Only except I guess eBay doesn't care much for its card sales because if you're trying to sell a card, you're now forced to choose "Used" for the condition or else you literally cannot proceed.

---

Workaround for sellers:

Make a blank listing and use its 'Sell Similar' link to create new listings. No more unnecessary clicks to get to the actual listing tool, which is still atrocious by the way. (Don't forget to double click GSP too! Or else no international sales for you!)

You are late to the party.

I have been using the tool for several months.

Creating a listing isn’t that bad. It auto picking a category. You can sell similar to save time but you will loose that time changing the category.

There are no GSP toggles when you use business policies. Business policies have been around for years.

For everything that happens conditions exist such that nothing else could have happened.

No need to lecture me. I was among the first to be transitioned to the new listing tool.

This topic is about the new change they made today, the one that forces you to this url: https://www.ebay.com/sl/prelist/suggest?sr=cubstart

If you are a card seller, you don't want to use the Used condition due to its negative connotation. Therefore the sell similar is necessary, because once 'Used' is selected, you cannot unselect it.

I don't have business policies (for some reason I never 'qualified' for them), and just use templates - listing is fast and easy because I have everything already pre-filled.

It's not a great idea to do 'what ebay wants you to do' - they don't sell anything but their piles of ads.  The individual seller is really the best determiner of what IS's they need to sell their products.

The new listing tool could be a lot better, I agree (I was in the beta testing) - there seems to be a lot of problems understanding how to scale an app for both web and mobile - something which other sites did years ago.  But eBay likes to make everything complicated, though the site is so big I guess that's what happens.  Still, I don't find it takes any longer than the old tool (and I did go back a couple of times for comparison's sake).

*ETA: My listings are really plain vanilla, though.

Seems like they only fixed the GSP issue after I mentioned it here. It's a pretty pathetic showing to need to have a user post about an issue on something as antiquated as user forums to fix a millions-dollar problem for a billions-dollar company.

What about loading photographs. Kicked off while trying to load any number of times.. What good is 24 photographs when it is  difficult to load just 12. Also forget trying to use editing tools. the amount of time it takes to edit 1 photograph makes it impossible to edit any number of photograps. Editing 12 photographs would take 6 to 9 minutes. Add that to completing a lisitng and you would be lucky list more than 4 items per hour. I just gave up trying to edit photographs

I've been using the new listing tool and even if I start at the beginning, I've been pretty happy with it. I actually prefer this over the old listing tool that we had if I'm going to be perfectly honest.

But...I've also used the "Sell Similar" if I have a like item to sell just to save down on the typing/mouse clicks....but I did that on the old one too.

The only real complaint I have is that I have to click twice to get to the HTML screen to copy my HTML text because if I just copy it into the regular screen well....I'm not sure I'd get myself a lot of sales with HTML text on the screen where my formatted ad should go. Before I just had to click the HTML tab and viola, I was there. Just a pet peeve.

Just my 2 cents.

SAME PROBLEM!! CAN'T MOVE PAST THE "WE'VE RUN OUT OF SUGGESTIONS" PAGE. How do I fix this? I have actually had to setup a call with their support. First time in 24 years. I don't get this. I've looked for every button on the site (Windows desktop/Edge browser) and there is no way to get past this page. I have sold a few items in the not to distant past and I don't remember it being this difficult.

If anyone can assist, please let me know.
