eBay managing payment

I am just wondering how this new system is working for sellers? Any problems?

I just tried to list an item and it would not take PayPal as a form of payment! Confusing for me!

any help or suggestions?

Buyers can pay with paypal, it's just that sellers don't have free standing paypal for receipt of payments anymore - it all goes into one bucket.

As for how the new (3 year old) system is working - please go to the payments board and you will find every sort of opinion imaginable, chat and discussion.

Managed payments work fine for me - I have it on four websites where I sell so it's nothing new.

I have been on MP for almost a year and other than a few hurdles in getting it setup. I opened a a new bank account for security and accounting purposes and had to switch a few things around but it has been working pretty good. Adjusting to the delay in funding availability took some getting used to but flows pretty well.

From a tax perspective the reports available under MP are a lot better for getting ready to file taxes than the reports that I used to pull from PayPal and had to combine with my own spreadsheet information, eBay sales and shipping data and other information. I can pull that from a single eBay report now and add in a few outside elements like Pirate Shipping costs when I use that service.

I diversified quite some time ago across multiple venues not so much because of MP but other issues with eBay. I still list items on eBay but try to only list things that minimize my risk as a seller or that I can afford to take a loss on. No high value items, no electronics, no coins or precious metals, things that are high target items for scammers.

If you have signed up and completed the hoop jumps for Managed Payments you should be able to create listings given your feedback score.

MP has worked for me since I was indoctrinated into it last year.  I list, I sell and I get paid weekly.  As sellers we don't set up what payment methods are accepted.

Are you talking about how YOU will be paid, or how BUYERS can pay? Sellers haven't been able to specify the methods that buyers can use to pay for more than a decade, so I'm not sure what problem you're having.

ebay managed payments is great in the respect that my sales took off since I was put in the program. I get daily payouts on weekdays. The only set back is no payments on the weekend. So you have to work around that. Other than that all good and more new buyers.

I opted into Managed Payments over two years ago. Currently, no problems to report. Good luck to you.

Have you enrolled as SELLER in Managed Payments?  If so...money NEVER goes into your PAY PAL account anymore.   Money is deposited into your checking account.

Customers can still use PayPal along with many other credit cards.    EBAY decides what forms of payments the customer can use.

You must sign up for managed payments to sell. I would suggest getting your managed payments accoutn set up completely BEFORE you list any item.

If you do decide to register for managed payments, make sure your name and address on your eBay account match the name and address on your bank account.

And make sure the bank account is an actual , normal, proper checking account. Do not try to get cute and use a debit card or some sort of hybrid account.

I have been using managed payments for almost a year on six accounts and have had zero issues.
