If you used the quick listing form then eBay automatically added the best offer option. You have to use the advanced listing form to control the use of the best offer option. In order to get rid of the best offer option you will have to end the listing and relist using the other version of the form.
That or I can call in some muscle.

Hi, if you list with the app on your smartphone you can set the Best Offer button to OFF. It’s hidden but can be done.
When listing, go to the Pricing headline, you will click on the pen icon in the lower right hand side of the screen. The next page that comes up, select More Options. This brings up the BO page. Then the setting for Best Offer can be turned off. The default selection leaves BO in the on position. Of course.

I forgot to mention that Customer Service likely told you what you wanted to hear rather than admit they could do nothing to prevent Best Offer from appearing in your listings.

The CS agent agreed. Do we need to hear any more that they tell you whatever you want to hear to get you off the phone.
