eBay hiding subtitles for mobile users

I’m curious why eBay is charging us to add a subtitle yet it does not show up in search results for mobile users. Considering over 70% of buyers are on mobile is eBay scamming us with the fee?

just the existence of the fee is a scam.

I'm curious as to why people pay to add subtitles.

Are they just spamming search results?

Subtitles aren’t searchable unless you click advance search and click search description.

Why charge to add a sub-title?

- Because they can

- Because they always have

- Because they want to discourage their use

Subtitles have never been searchable, sub-titles are infrequently used, designing a mobile app where space is a premium, doesn't make sense to reserve space for something of minimal importance.

Perhaps. But apparently, it is an action condoned by eBay if one is willing to pay a 50 cent fee per listing. That method of spamming seems like it could get a tad costly at some point.

I have never had the need to use one.

Re: eBay hiding subtitles for mobile users

Them charging isn’t the issue, it’s the false advertisement of the added service that they aren’t providing to the seller. If you purchase an item on eBay you expect it to be delivered. If I pay for the addition of a subtitle it should be delivered as well. I understand your points, I just want to know why it isn’t showing when they say it will.
