Yes, times have changed and I have said in my previous posts eBay has grown up, with the help of all the little guys, and now caters primarily to the big box retailers and large sellers. Fees are high. And they also have to comply with many laws and cover their payroll (lots of VIce Presidents) and expenses
I look at the sellers that are fanboys or girls who are listed for the ebay open and some of them may have many listings but have not sold much. Interesting. It is just the way it is now. To be a top-rated seller and be able to be recognized as top-rated plus one must offer 30 days of returns. That works for best buy and the other mega-retailer, not for me the little independent person when I a selling new and used items at a steep discount already or fo someone selling preowned merchandise
Again, this is the new and improved ebay and to sell on this platform just read all the rules and reg and understand that it will cost you between 13 and 25%.
As a small seller who did quite well in past years and was top rated I had stopped altogether selling on ebay when the fees became too high for me and hoops I would need to jump through became an issue for me and used other platforms but not as a primary means of income. I did start selling some personal items on ebay again because it was the best way for me to sell the items I wanted to sell.
For me, as an occasional thing, it is OK just know going in if you have to use promoted listings and such you will be paying about 25% ofryou can just take your chances, especially if you have unique items, and forgot the promoted listings.
