I just got a few INRs from the same buyer. I uploaded the tracking into each INR and typed a message reply. I noticed that after I submitted, the message history within each case only shows two lines of text and then gets cut off with a …
It never did that before. There’s no way to expand that message in the case details. Nor do I get a copy of that message in my emails or eBay message inbox. So where can I find a record of my complete message? Are you guys seeing the same?

Did you try clicking on the ....
It may be the way I have my Site Preferences set, but I don't get an email copy of what I email to my buyer inside a claim. I always have the claim to refer to it.
Just as a little suggestion. If these items were shipped via USPS. Go to the USPS website and type in the tracking number. On the tracking page, sign up for any updates to the tracking. This can come in very handy if the item gets delivered after you have refunded the buyer.

Yes.

Same here. I may have to change my thinking and look for some setting to get an emailed copy.

Sorry I failed to mention that the tracking already shows delivered.

Oh well then nothing to worry about. You will be fine.
When this happens I always send a professional email to my buyer suggesting the check with their carrier as soon as possible as they may actually remember where they left it if it did not fit in the mailbox. Then they should check with their local PO and see what they can find out for them. Give them some suggestions on what they can do as they may have no idea they can do anything to find the package.

Yes I know. My issue isn’t with that, it’s with eBay cutting off the messages and if other people are experiencing it too. This might be an issue for future INRs with communication.

I'm not so sure I'd worry about that very much. It will likely resolve itself in a day or so. It won't have anything to do with how the claim resolves. If you feel it was important info that your buyer should have, then send it to them from the purchase or listing. I know it is odd and it is important. It is very likely just a temporary issue.

You would if you had some currently open INRs that have continuous back and forth communication like I do. I can’t remember what I previously said to each one so I’m not sure what to reply now since I now can’t see my messages for reference. I’d hate to unintentionally repeat myself to a buyer in this situation.
Again, this has nothing to do with closing the case out in my favor. Simply put, is anyone else having issues with the INR message you send being cut off after two lines?

Oddly enough I don't have any open right now to check. But I can confirm that for a long time now that cut off has existed on closed INRs. It's been that way for a year or two at least on closed cases. Can't remember how it displays on open ones.

I just checked and can confirm that all of my closed cases also have their messages cut off after two lines in the exact same way as mentioned in my OP. I can assume you’re right about them being like that for so long since I don’t really check closed cases to prove otherwise.
I just noticed, because my buyer sent multiple messages longer than two lines that eBay also cut off their messages to me as well. So now I have to check in my inbox for the two “____ sent you a message” message in order to see the entire message the buyer sent. This is taking a step backwards in efficiency for handling these cases.
Gee, I wish there was a way you can see all messages in their entirety on open cases so you don’t have to go around hunting for them to help resolve these issues. If only there was a way 🙂
I also wonder if buyers see the messages being cut off too. If so, they aren’t likely to go hunting for the entire message. That could upset the buyer thinking the seller isn’t giving enough help or info. eBay has been cutting off info in many different areas lately huh.

I have a open INR.
You're right. My response is cut off.
I imagine it's there, I just can't see it.
I'm not sure if that's a glitch -or- that's how they want it.
I can't imagine that's how they want it.

Most recent screenshots I had were from a couple months ago @iamalwaysright and the way it displayed at that time on open claims was full text. For closed claims I'm seeing mixed results on a few older screenshots from full text to cut off text so I was wrong with my initial reply saying it's been that way consistently. I attribute that to "test on, test off" brain. Sometimes things get scrambled. haha
Checking on my eBay account today, all closed claims show cut off text, even ones that I have screenshots showing full text a couple months ago.
Hey devon@ebay - if this is a design change, the developers/programmers forgot the "see more" links. OP is about INRs but the same applies to return requests.

Hey @wastingtime101! I will be sure to let the correct team know about this and thank you and others that pointed this out.
