I got Item Not Received notice Sep 26.
I replied right away Sep 26 in Resolution Center.
Reply to Buyer included tracking number which was already in the order and which showed Delivered.
Buyer hasn't responded in Resolution Center.
eBay emails me again asking me to Resolve this Request Sep 28.
I sent the same reply again to Buyer on Sep 28.
Why is eBay prompting me to resolve the case when the status is "Awaiting Buyer's Action?"

Did you enter the tracking number into the case?
It doesn't matter where else it is, you must enter it into the case.

You need to call and have the case closed in your favor --
don't hang up until it is done.

I did not reenter the tracking number into the case because eBay evaluates my tracking numbers incorrectly on a regular basis. Programming glitch.
I'll reenter it with notes. thanks

The bleeping ebay Resolution Manager reports "invalid tracking number" for the very same number that is on the order and which tracks showing delivery in buyer's ZIP.
What a (edited). Ridiculous.

Enter the tracking number and copy and paste all of the tracking information into the reply box. Send it. Then CALL Ebay immediately and have this closed IN YOUR FAVOR while you are ON THE PHONE.
If this times out you'll get an unresolved case strike, two or three of which are fatal.

eBay errors abound on this.
1) I replied in Resolution Center on Sep 26
2) Ebay emailed me to "resolve this case" on Sep 28 when the ball was in the buyer's court. Very bad email error.
3) Taking advice from above, I tried putting the correct tracking number into the Resolution Center. 92748901859227111256963597
4) Resolution Center reports: Invalid Tracking Information.
5) I call eBay and get Precious on the other side of the world. Precious confirms that I've done everything I can on this case. I read the tracking number to her. She says it's all good. Precious says we have to wait til Oct 2 to take action.
6) I explain to Precious 3 times that I now understand the case status and am fine with. What I'm not fine with is eBay send me "you have to resolve this or we're going to penalize you" emails when I've already done it. And I'm not fine with the Resolution Center site indicating that my correct tracking number is "Invalid Tracking Information"
7) Precious says "oh don't worry . the emails are system generated." "Oh don't worry the tracking number is OK" Precious doesn't get it either.
😎 I ask Precious to report the incorrect email and the faulty error message on the Resolution Center.
9) Precious says "we know already and our engineers are working around the clock to improve"
10) I order PRecious to report it again.
And now for the "Take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning" tips:
As for "don't hang up until the case is resolved." That does not apply here because of the dates. So you can't give the same advice to everyone. Date matter. but thanks
As for "you must enter the tracking number into the case" see above in this post and in the prior post about this. The site is broken. But thanks for the tip. It didn't work this time.
You can google the tracking number. It's legit.
Waiting til Oct 2. Thanks

I forgot to mention that eBay's Precious told me to ignore all the wrong emails from eBay.

Resolution Center reports that I added the Tracking Number.
Precious added it for me as the site wouldn't take it.

If you didn't enter the tracking number at that time, then you did not reply with the information that eBay was asking for and needed in order to decide in your favor. The email was not in error.

Precious is blowing smoke. You have attempted to do all you need to, the system has failed and if you follow her advice you will lose. It's all good to her because she is not the one who will lose the case if the correct tracking number is not accepted by the system.

Yes, dates matter. Just like "don't hang up until the case is resolved" does apply here. If you drop the issue and leave the case unresolved (ie, not entering the tracking number because of a glitch) you will probably lose. Don't let that deadline pass without getting someone at eBay to fix the problem with the tracking not being accepted.

No, it isn't. But look further up in this thread, where you showed us a different tracking number: 92748901859227111251901242. That one works for USPS. I think that's the one you should be using, yes?

NO NO NO NO NO, do NOT wait. You can't trust eBay's system to find in your favor. Call back until you get a CS rep that will correctly close this case IN YOUR FAVOR while you are on the phone. Tell them you want a transcript of the call to make sure this is done correctly.
There are too many stories of people who have followed the "Wait until x" on an INR and then have an even bigger fight to get it corrected.

Hellllooooo, @stoneledge: are you there? Have you tried submitting the correct tracking number? You can see the difference on the USPS website: 92748901859227111251901242 will work; 92748901859227111256963597 will not. Not sure how you came up with that second one, but it appears that the first one is the correct one to submit to the dispute console.
