To be totally transparent on a few things:
I do not accept returns. I sell my items significantly discounted, I don’t care about the extra cash eBay offers to accept returns. I’ve sold 100’s of thousands of items on eBay since 2003 on multiple accounts.
I am more than willing to deal with the Negative feedback. No problem, I’ve had one negative in the last year.
Here’s my beef.
I recently had a customer file a dispute via eBay because it was
“Not as described - “May be a fake item” or something like that.
Comments: Item does not fit my face.
i asked the buyer several clarifying questions including:
-Are you concerned about authenticity or based on your comments does the item not fit?
customer replied:
”This item does not fit my face, it’s way to big.”
I immediately contacted eBay & Esculated the case because this was a clear case of buyer remorse & fraud related to the mos-use of the buyer protection program. Lying to open a dispute.
ebay found in my favor & would not allow the buyer to leave feedback. (Well he still was able to leave negative feedback & I had to call eBay to have it removed. That’s a whole different post there).
i thought I was good because there’s no double jeopardy on eBay/PayPal.
Boy was I wrong!
Now that they are 2 difference companies, they treat it as two different cases I guess!
now it’s been 3 days & my funds are still tied up at PayPal!
Is this his bits or is it just me?

sometimes funds do not release as quickly as they say.
may take another day.
I once had to call paypay for release.
Buyer can still do a paypay return request
then there is the cc chargeback
triple jeopardy

If they are not satisfied with the outcome on Ebay, they can file a case through Pay Pal, and they have 180 days to do it.
If Pay Pal fails, they can file with their credit card company, if this is how they paid.

The only protection against double-jeopardy that eBay has ever promised was protection from having to refund the same transaction twice.
Buyers have always been able to file a second case on PayPal.
And by the way - you are also subject to triple jeopardy.
If the buyer loses the second case with Paypal, he can then file a chargeback case with his credit card company.

OP, it's been stated as policy that buyers have to choose between Paypal or eBay for resolution of the same dispute. Winning an ebay case (or Paypal) should in theory allow you to notify Paypal c-s of that fact and have the *same* case closed in your favor. You can look up past threads on the issue and read the replies from ebay staff.
That said, I think going forward all bets will be off.

ONE of my biggest pet peeves is getting a complaint from someone who doesn't know the difference between "to" and "too".
