I had half a dozen Blu-ray movies listed on eBay that I bought from Amazon, with Amazon Inc. as the seller, in 2009. I tried to sell these major Hollywood movies first because they were still sealed, but nobody seems to want them at any price including best offer. I had them listed on eBay for more than a year.
Recently I received a notice from eBay letting me know that they were taken down because they're counterfeit. I submitted the Amazon receipts as proof of their authenticity, but my appeal was denied. Apparently, according to eBay's crack experts, this 1.98 trillion-dollar company is a bootlegger and I'm their fence with my six stupid Blu-ray discs.
I've sold over 100,000 items on eBay over the last 27 years, with a majority over $100, with 100% feedback.

Did Amazon know in 2009 is the question. I have plenty of DVDs I bought on eBay over a decade ago that I believe are counterfeit. I didn't know at the time and doubt eBay knew either.
The internet is alive and changing. Online policing is forever learning and expanding. I remember when internet sales weren't even subject to sales tax.

Likely, your items were pulled for an easy mistake. It might be that these movies have been out of print for several years, and you are selling them as new. It might have been some keyword in your listing that triggered the disposition.

Amazon Inc. does not purchase and re-sell counterfeit goods.

I listed them as "still sealed," and they're not out-of-print. They're major Hollywood movies that are still sold by Amazon directly.
I'm sure they were pulled by a bot. But was the appeal handled by a bot as well, or an eBay contractor drone in a cubicle in the Philippines?
