Hey all,
I have a speaker system listed for sale here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sonance-Sonarray-Outdoor-Speaker-System-with-Amp/223228277403. The current price is $2600.
eBay has given me the option of sending an offer to the watcher, but anytime I type an amount higher than $2, I get the red message "Amount must be at least 5% less than your Buy It Now price (US $2,564.99 or less)", and it won't let me send the offer.
What's causing this and how can I fix it, so I can offer the amount I want to?

I didn't know sellers can do that. Is it possible?

It's a new feature, but clearly needs some techincal work. $2,564.99 isn't even under 5% less.

Sounds like a coding error in the offer form. eBay has a tendency to release software into the wild without proper testing.
If there's an existing zero in the form field, try deleting it before typing in your offer, and see if that makes a difference.
Realistically, sending offers at someone who only wants to watch may just annoy them. If there's a lower price that you would sell for, lower the BuyItNow price to that amount and see who jumps first. If I remember right, lowering the price will trigger an eBay email notification to anyone who's watching your listing.

Good idea, but I tried both ways and it still doesn't work. It won't acept anything $2.01 or higher

I'm surprised with so little feedback that you've been allowed to put items up of that value. Can you tell me how you managed to get eBay to authorize such a high selling point?

I would call CS tomorrow and ask them. There's a bug for some reason.

Sellers need authorization from eBay to sell something expensive?
