As many of us predicted when we first saw Quick View rolled out in Stores, it looks like eBay is now testing it in search results as well.

I would guess it is either an A/B test to measure impact on conversion or there is some not obvious criteria involved because it isn't showing on all listings.

Here's what I'm seeing today in Chrome incognito - when you hover over the gallery image for listings that have it, you'll see a magnifying glass icon.

This particular iteration requires you to click directly on the magnifying glass icon to pop up the Quick View module - if you click on the title or anywhere else on the image it will just take you to the regular listing page.

However, as we saw with the initial tests in Stores, there were multiple experiences being tested so I'm not sure if it will look like this for everyone.

Anyone else seeing this?

Gave it a try, both logged in and logged out, in Chrome, no luck.

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques it was very random for me, only a handful of listings on the first page had it, most did not, and the only way I could tell was just by hovering over each gallery image.

Some of the listings were variations, others weren't, various conditions etc. too - I didn't see any obvious pattern/criteria, which is why I'm assuming it's an A/B test but that's just a guess.

Also seeing it in Firefox incognito. FWIW, my search was just for "pokemon" - not sure if it's maybe being tested in specific categories.

@wastingtime101 - thought you might be interested in this.

At least so far it appears to be the prefered design that requires clicking on the icon to pop up Quick View.

Ah, my mistake....I can't follow simple instructions LOL

I thought the magnifying glass was simply showing up, but I have to hover to see it. I tried "Pokemon" search while logged inion Chrome and did have a few listings where the magnifying glass popped up when I hovered....and when I clicked on the glass, it opened the pop up window.

I agree, another unannounced test.

Does a click on the magnifying glass to pop up the Quick View count as an ad click if the buyer checks out without ever clicking through to the description?

Yeah, I'm seeing it on pokemon cards - some, not all listings same as you. Seeing it when searching for nike air force 1 and iPhone 14 pro max.

But I'm not seeing it on most searches. Nothing on nike hoodie or tag heuer or rolex mens watch or louis vuittons handbags.

So yeah, appears to be certain categories right now. I'm not immediately noticing a pattern on which listings within the same category have it and which don't, and I'm not in any kind of mood to do a deeper dive and start opening all these listings.

Probably not super relevant, but just more as an FYI, I'm also seeing Quick View on a few listings within the Trending Items module that is also being tested.

I'm still seeing Quick View being tested in search for some categories and it does occasionally appear on Sponsored search results.

I would assume clicking the magnifying glass icon to see the quick view counts as a click for ad attribution the same way clicking on the heart to add to the watch list does now, but it would be helpful for sellers to have that confirmed.
