Since those sites use the same kind of program, I don't think MP has anything to do with it.

Have a great day.

Many sites use that type of program.  However, it is HOW they use it that can make all the difference in the world.

I don't think a small percentage of sellers being on MP right now would have anything to do with it, though - the stock market is twitchy and all of these stocks are outperforming S&P.

I'm actually glad.  eBay needs a reality check now and then.  Maybe it's not about MP, but there are about 10 other good reasons I could give you that (in my opinion) would make me think twice before I invested in that stock.

IE.  Means one example over the last few years.   Yet I will jump in your little Sand Box.  So you don't think MP has anything to do with it?  Tell that to:

The Sellers who have seen a Major Decline in Sales as soon as they joined MP.

The Sellers having to wait DAYS for payout.

All of the other Technical Glitches preventing Sales from going through.  No $ale$ No $$$$$ for eBay or the Sellers.

The BUYERS having problems checking out/completing their purchases.

ALL OF THIS ONCE MP WAS IMPLEMENTED!

K.  I believe you need a new set of pompoms & a new Idol.

A decline in sales since entering MP could have ZERO to do with being in MP.  It is a money processing program and has nothing to do with the listings or visibility of those listings at all.  In fact if anything it should increase sales because buyers have more payment options.

Tis true, the payment process is a bit problematic for those wanting Daily Payouts, however that wouldn't have anything to do with what this thread is about and besides not of those other sites you name allow for Daily Payouts.  Those and others are every couple of weeks.

Not likely those "glitches" are due to MP, but they certainly are a problem for sellers that are in MP and for sellers that are not.  And NO this didn't start with MP.  It may be when you noticed it, but it certainly isn't when it started.  MP started TWO years ago.  Starting in July they onboarded more sellers and in each preceding month more have been onboarded.  In July they were up to about 250,000 sellers in MP out of 7 million US sellers.

No Pompoms, just some additional information that it doesn't seem you considered.

Look I get it.  MP is a HUGE change for many sellers.  And with huge change comes push back, misunderstandings and problems.  It is normal stuff for us humans.  We aren't so keen on changes like this.  And when you mess with our money it is even worse.  So I respect that you don't like MP.  It certainly has room to improve, there is no doubt of that.

There are many different technical processes that go into a system like MP.  Some of those processes may only touch or affect those who are in the program and some of them may touch or affect the site as a whole.

None of us have any visibility to the back end technical side of eBay, so we can't really say what the root cause is.  However, it is certainly not outside the realm of possibility that something about the MP process is causing some technical issues.

eBay is notorious for releasing updates and code that doesn't always play well with existing code.  It could also be a situation where the technical aspects of the MP program are resource intensive in some way (especially as they add more and more sellers) and peak times may overwhelm or bog down the system causing errors or delays.  There are many other possibilities, but you get the idea.

It is also not outside the realm of possibility that if any of the above is true, it could negatively affect sales both for those in MP and those who are not yet.  While reports of buyers not being able to complete checkout and payment have been going on for years, it does seem to be a growing complaint here in the community and across social media.

It doesn't matter how many payment options a buyer is shown, if they cannot complete the checkout and payment process, they will go elsewhere, period.  Again, we have no visibility to be able to say how much if at all the MP programming is responsible here - but it is eBay's job to figure that out and they don't appear to be doing that job very well.

We could argue and split hairs over whether it is more accurate to say that Managed Payments is killing sales or technical problems on eBay that may be related to or exacerbated by the implementation and expansion of Managed Payments are killing sales or maybe the problems have absolutely nothing to do with Managed Payments.

Personally I don't have the time to waste on those kind of arguments - I just need eBay to fix whatever is causing these issues.

I was going to edit to add that was a general reply, but the board logged me out and by the time I could get back in it was too late.  Another technical problem that eBay just needs to get it fixed.  🙄

That is a problem in the forums which is a separate area of Ebay.  The community has been full of problems, glitches and annoyances for the past 5 months like it has never been before.

Exactly what IE means.  1 Example.   MP is affecting/stopping Sales from going through.  Which would affect eBay's bottom line.  This is why people flooded to the other Functional Sites.

If you do not have time to waste for such arguments?  Why did you write 7 paragraphs?

Very often when eBay makes changes it is detrimental for Sellers in the Long Run.  There is a History of this.

-----Many buyers love Paypal and under MP this is not an option.

From what I have observed there are technical issues with eBay every time they make a seller update - and those are only the changes users know about.   eBay has always been technologically deficient no matter - nothing to do with who was handling their payment processing.
