eBay Shoes Authenticator Service is an absolute joke.

I sell shoes through eBay quite a bit and they are not rare, hard to find Jordan's but more like $100+ running shoes, hiking boots, etc, but because they are over $100 it requires to ship through the authenticator. I have had at least 5 orders fail inspection for what was called damaged shoe box only to get them returned to see the slightest damage at all. The damage was incurred at the Authenticator or in transit because I never had that damage when I shipped it.  (They were packaged properly in boxes.) Now - they say it takes two days per their terms and conditions for the process to go through and my latest three batches of shipments have taken about a week after delivery at the Authenticator hub for them to forward on to the customer. My customers are threatening to cancel orders because of how long the transit times are taking and it's because of eBay's poor service. I get this authenticator service is to help customers, but it's mostly been a nightmare for all involved. Anyone have similar issues?

So shoes over 100$ in selling price need authentication? Why would they complain about the box?

It's splitting hairs, but were they packed in the original boxes? Or just 'properly' in other types of boxes?

If it were me I would consider selling them as new without box from now on 🙂

@lyonscc_usa

     Recently there has been several complaints about this service. One poster stated his footwear was denied and sent back to wrong address. Geez, I don't know what to say except when you " Google that authenticity place" it comes up as a waste disposal site???

They are in original shoe boxes shipped in a corrugated shipping box.

Seems like a good work around but Unfortunately shoes don’t sell as well as listed as new in box. They are in original shoe boxes anyhow.

I am having the same issue.  I have shoes that arrived at the authenticator on 3/13, and they still haven't shipped them to the customer.  I have one customer who left neutral feedback because it took two weeks for them to receive their shoes.  I have two buyers who have opened "item not received" cases because the items are still at the authenticator!  THESE SHOES ARE 1000% AUTHENTIC.  This is a horrible process.

It is HORRIBLE.  I ship shoes as well.  All of them are 100% authentic.  They have to go to Ebay's authenticator, and they hold them for a week or two.  Buyers are getting upset and leaving neutral feedback and everything.  It is horrible!!

They authenticated my shoes and shipped them to the wrong address.  This service is HORRIBLE.

This has got to be what got you tagged. They were listed NIB (although I see the Condition says 'New with  box')... does the Authenticity program require the original  box and not just 'a corrugated shipping box'? Stinks like athlete's feet to me.😑

No they are in their original shoe boxes from manufacturer and then that shoe box is shipped in a shipping box. So two boxes total.

Re: eBay Shoes Authenticator Service is an absolute joke.

Man I’ve been working from home because my state isn’t fully opened yet. Bored thinking of ways to make extra money and I saw cheap (valuable) “new” Jordan’s all over eBay. So I made sure I filtered new shoes and authentication, ordered at least 7 pairs all worth double what I paid or more. Also had “money back guarantees” so I wasn’t worried. Out of the 5 pairs I’ve received so far, 2 actually may of been “new unworn” as eBay describes. One pair literally had dirt all in bottoms was blatantly obvious they were used. So I opened a case sent them the pics soon as I opened them. I also called and was promised I my money back. Two days later case closed they sided with authenticator. Of the 4 “new” pairs I reposted on eBay, 3 of them I’ve posted as used, because I’m honest. One I posted on StockX, the only pair that might pass an actual inspection. Haven’t lost money because even used the deals I get are good enough. But I don’t to scrub the bottoms of shoes I bought as unused for a $15 profit. All different sizes as well, so eBay thinks I wear them for an hour and lie, plus my foot changes sizes. That would be the only reasoning for not fulfilling two guarantees. Haven’t stopped buying for a reason, I’m recording every pair from the minute the box arrives. I will expose them and make them get real inspectors. In my 5th year of law school, while I haven’t lost money, in a way I have. If I received what I was “guaranteed” I would of made about an extra $1000. Not saying it’s worth a civil suit yet, but if that profit loss keeps going up and they keep doing nothing then it may be. My 5 year said the shoes were dirty, it’s like they just slap “new” a tag on it. One pair did not pass, must of hit by a truck a few times. This will end up being a major problem for eBay if they don’t start listening to the customer’s instead of the “experts”.

Re: eBay Shoes Authenticator Service is an absolute joke.

I am new to selling, but had Yeezy shoes that were bought in bidding. I packaged and sent out with tracking the next day to the "authenticator" that ebay provided me with. This "authenticator" has had shoes for 6 DAYS!!! According to ebay policies, I cannot even send a message to the seller! The turnaround time is suppose to be 2 to 3 days! I have tried chatting with customer rep, communication difficult as I don't think English is their first language and so far no one has been able to answer! I keep asking why the shoes are still held up with authenticator????? This is frustrating and ridiculous! My customer who paid 350.00 dollars for shoes deserves the product, and we are waiting for Paypal to release funds! The last chat rep I had said he needed to transfer to 'specialized" chat rep but that they were "offline" but assured me they would reach out through email......that was almost 7 hours ago!!!! NOT HAPPY about this **bleep** poor service, then they will have the nerve to charge their fees!

YES IT IS! My Yeezys are authentic too and still held up at "authenticator" which is suppose to be a 2 to 3 day turnaround! What a joke!
