I just noticed that the “x sold” count is no longer showing on any of my active listings—both from my seller account and when I view my store from another account. I checked several other sellers' pages too, and it looks like this feature has been removed across the board.
I don’t know if this is a permanent change or just some test rollout, but I want to say loud and clear: this is a massive issue for those of us who rely on buyer trust and reputation to drive sales.
That "x sold" count wasn't just a vanity metric. It was one of the most powerful trust signals we had on eBay. When a buyer saw “100+ sold,” it gave them immediate confidence in the listing, the product, and the seller. Now? It’s gone—and suddenly my listings look no different than a brand new account with zero history.
This isn’t just annoying. It’s damaging to conversions.
Buyers are now forced to focus only on price, which encourages more undercutting, more race-to-the-bottom pricing, and gives shady or brand-new sellers the same visibility as those of us who’ve spent years building trust.
Let me be blunt: this tips the scales further against small sellers.
Between increasing fees, forced promoted listings, and now this, I’m seriously considering pulling away from eBay entirely and focusing on building my own site. It feels like every update lately is designed to benefit eBay’s bottom line at the expense of sellers who built this platform’s reputation.
I’d love to hear if others are seeing this too—and if anyone from eBay can clarify whether this is a bug, a test, or a permanent change. If it’s permanent, I think a lot of us deserve an explanation for why such a critical feature was removed with zero notice.
