We need an eBay Relations Team to assist us in shaping policy and changing eBays perceptions of how e-commerce truly functions. And, what we need to assist us in actually selling instead of creating pitfalls that use our time unwisely and creating obstacles that kill our sales.
Maybe that is what we need to get eBay to listen to us!

Pretty much the last thing eBay would want to do is let the inmates have a hand in running the asylum.

I agree, being on here since before the buy out and went public, 30 years ago, I have felt the same way as well as made my thoughts known to ebay. Far to often, someone comes up with an idea and does not think ahead at what effect it will have with sellers and simply toss it on the wall to see if it sticks. No upfront notices...nothing, you just wake up and start your day and find things have changed and you struggle to find out how to get going as you once did. No directions and if there is they are contradictory, or they post a link that basically send you off to more confusion, rather than sending you to where you wanted to be in the first place. Then since they have twisted and modified the plaform, when they change something it ripples through the system screwing other things up....after a while, as in my case of trying to figure it out, one just says screw it, and give up, and just try to find a work around to the mess they create...perfect example, someone thought we needed a "New" message system (we didn't) and look at the mess we have now and noway to switch back...They made a mess with the shopping cart, and still have yet to have the light bulb go on that it only driving buyers away from ebays platform entirely(i have folders full of saved issues and comment on this issue, where ebay blocks combined shipping or even to request it, and forces buyers to pay shipping on each item...after 3 or 4 items the shipping on the items the buyer wanted get ridiculous, I have walked away from numerous purchases for this exact reason and went to another platform to buy what I wanted, where shipping was as it should be. Ebay shoots its own foot off then cries poor and wants to raise fees, promoted items lol why pay twice for the service ebay is supposed to do...put your items in front of perspective buyers to start with....the only thing it promotes is more money from the sellers, regardless if your item sells or not...

Do you mean the eBay global Governnent Relations Team? That's the only Relations Team I'm aware of, and they aren't going to help you sell.

Ebay is an internet company.
Few internet companies know anything about any business or business practices.
The management can read a spreadsheet - all the skills they think they need.
The worker bees just invent solutions to requests made by those spreadsheet readers, without knowing how businesses operate.
In time, all internet companies come to emulate the biggest e-commerce company of them all.
A majority of Ebay sellers have no business experience. They do not understand how businesses have solved problems. Listening to them would be no better than they way things are today.

I've got my own relations team. An uncle who said - ebay, is that still around? And numerous young nephews and nieces who say - ebay who?
Maybe a decent ad campaign would correct that. My local shopping malls have ad's on the telly, but a large multi-national company that depends on advertising revenue doesn't. Something wrong with that picture.

We're entering a new era where döuche-bros will feel empowered to double-down on price gouging and tax dodging. Fortunately for us 20% inflation and the new 30% tax on 95% of products sold in the US will mean we can stop buying things and don't have to worry about any of this. Okay, maybe we'll have to worry about the price of food, but still ...

Would you be ok with a fee increase to pay for this relation team? Cause that is what Ebay would do. Fees and shipping cost already kill sales so with this idea Ebay would be tacking on more fees. Which means more money out of the sellers pocket which then passes onto the buyers who many are looking for bargain deals.

eBay has had a team like this for decades.
Last thing I heard, it was still called eBay Voices. The format and procedures changed a lot over the years.
If you get invited to participate in Voices, then you can help to make changes.

I saw eBay Voices at the Hollywood Bowl in 1998. They opened for the Chick Corea Elektric Band.
