Hey eBay, You're getting paid pretty well to advertise our products overseas. And This is the reason you get paid to start with. Why would there be an extra fee for you to do the job you're paid to do to start with?
charging us to translate Languages overseas and calling it promoting? This is nothing more than an extortion plot.....
we've all been running along ok for some years now even with your excessively high Fees. But now you won't sell our stuff unless we succumb to your Promoting extortion? the only thing This will promote is the decline of eBay....
I have already been forced to list my items on other sites now. Which obviously with any quanity of people following suite, Will make your site weaker And their site's stronger.... This is very disrespectful behavior eBay....
I certainly hope you rethink your direction here....

Umm...No. So far not a single Ebay employee has posted to this thread.
When and if one does post, you will know it as their posts clearly show they are Ebay employees.
Just because you aren't getting the responses you hoped for doesn't mean the replies are incorrect or posted by Ebay employees.

Honestly I always avoided Promoted listings. I didn't know what they were until I started reading these boards, I'm sure I'm not the only one. I assumed they were big companies who paid for them and that they were knocking out the little guy, which is why I avoided them. Moving past the promoted listings to the regular ones seemed to be more "supporting small business" or something. Obviously I still see huge sellers with listings that are not promoted, I'm just throwing out there what my perception was. There are people who seem to do well with them. I don't need them because there usually aren't many of the items I sell listed.

Wow! Thanks for that link. I really enjoyed reading about everyone and seeing their photos. I have to figure out how to save it so I can always look back and read more.
Edit: I saved it to my bookmarks on Google. Thanks again!!

Earlier tonight luckthewinner had 14 feedback and second chance sales had 989 now luckythewinner has 989 and second chance sales has 14. But who has 78 items for sale and 14 feedback? pretty rare, And who has 989 feedback and zero purchases? Time for me to go.....
I have never sold anything on this ID - this is my buying ID. I would never be stupid enough to buy and sell on the same ID.
And I certainly would never sell on the ID I post with - that would simply invite unstable, disgruntled people to mess with my listings because they disagree with what I am posting.

It was recently asked of me if in my reply (to whatever the question was in whatever thread it was in) was intended to mean that someone might possibly retaliate if they see something I posted they didn't like and I said yep .... definitely. Some people can be cruel. That's why after I learned how to create a posting ID ... I felt much better. ![]()

It goes back more than a decade now, but supposedly a seller once posted here bragging that he had never received a negative feedback - and the next day he had a negative that said "You have one now" 🙂
Anyway, to get back to the topic at hand ..
12% of my 2018 sales were international, despite the fact that I do not pay to promote my listings my listings and my average selling price is $12 and I charge $23.50 to ship 9 ounces overseas.

Wow ... I almost laughed at that neg feedback (almost thinking ... served you right! lol) but then I wondered if the seller was able to get that removed.
I've never sold internationally. I've been really afraid. I remember once a long time ago my mom had a sale and I think I had to fill out a customs form for her and I had NO experience. Fortunately her buyer received it and all went well.
I think my mom used Promoted listings once but I'm not sure. Are those the ones when someone clicks on them the seller is charged a fee? Or maybe that's something on the other E I'm thinking about?
As far as your average selling prices being $12 ... that's great but wow ... $23.50 to ship 9 ounces is unbelievable. <wiping brow>
