When is the name eBay going to change to eBaitandswitch. Iam fed up with these listings of multiple items that you have to choose from a list. The title is always about the most exspensive item, but the price is for the cheapest **bleep** that is not even mentioned in the title. It's just the old bait and switch routine and eBay, or should I say eBaitandswitch, lets it go on. I'm tired of wading through these **bleep** listing to find what I'm really looking for. Ebay needs to become more consumer freindly. PLEASE GET RID OF THESE MULTY LISTINGS!!!

if a buyer is interested in something like bubble wrap, do we really want them to search through 20 different listings from a seller that has 75, 150, 300, 350, 450, 600, 700, 900, 1200, and 1400 foot lengths in 12 and 24 inch widths? No seller would list these at the same proce, and having 20 different listings is a bad shopping experience for the buyer.
Yes, that is exactly how buyers want to search. If I want 300 foot of bubble wrap, I will search 300 foot of bubble wrap. I DO NOT want to search bubble wrap and you show me it is $5 and when I click I find out 300 foot is $25. As a seller you need to have a listing for 75 foot, a listing for 150 foot, etc. Listing an item showing $5 cost and when I click I find out you really want $25 IMO is a fraudulent listing.

Perhaps some may want individual listings .... but not all (for example, I want to see the variations all together). If buyers want individual listings for every variation of a product that has price differences, I guess all the other e-retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, etc. are doing it wrong.

LOL! I kinda doubt it.
But if he can realy fix any real problem - easily and permanently - eBay's track record suggests they'd never hire him.

How many more of these threads do you need to see before you END Multi-variations in the current form and revamp the system to prohibit this kind of abuse?
Actually, I doubt if any amount of threads on this subject will any effect on eBay's allowing them.

Hi @chrysylys, we've heard the feedback from our Community on this topic and have passed it along for possible changes. I appreciate your passion on this topic and I can assure you that this is something we will look into!
This listing photo --
which is itself a violation of photo policy --
states that you will not be getting the item in the listing:at the 99-cent variation price --
and the variation is "Out of stock" already.

I could see a fixed description -- 'Bubble wrap, 12" width' with dropdowns for length but the wider size would need to be another listing.
Question becomes, when you start allowing for that kind of thing, how to you thwart those who want to exploit it? If you don't find a way, you end up right back where we are with a drodown selection that includes 'random toy', or even worse, something like '1' where you might get one inch of bubble wrap.
That's why I maintain that 'one listing, one price' is the best way I can think of. No matter the variable, the price is $10.00, one inch of bubble wrap or ten feet. Yeah, it can still be exploited, but still ....

General question though on listing fees and counts since I've never used MV.
Is there an advantage if you do one listing with 10 variations or 10 separate listings with no variations?

The easy fix for that search would be to bring up the price on the specific variation you are searching for. NOT the lowest price of any variation in the listing.

But is the listing fee charged for one item (listing) or 10?
