eBAY Updates

When eBay changed their policy from PayPal collecting their $$ to eBay themselves actually taking that part over, it seemed like my listings were NOT doing any business?  I later learned after going into each individual listing and "CHANGING" method payment that sales picked up.

*I also noted that much of the WAY I had set up the description of each item listed was all "wacky".  Titles all to the left, certain words larger or smaller than the rest and it was a lot of work to straighten it ALL out.

So now I have received a notice that eBay is again making changes in the Fall (The 2021 Fall Seller Update) and after reading it,  I think back and am NOT sure I want to sign the agreement and go through ALL of this again.

I also am NOT pleased that I can no longer contact eBay (as a Seller), but I can as a buyer.  This may sound like a complaint, I don't mean it to be.  But when all is good WHY change it?

Re: eBAY Updates

You really have some significant misunderstandings.  Managed Payments which is Ebay's payment system has absolutely NOTHING to do with your listings.  It is a money processing system just as PayPal was a money processing system.  Neither messes with your listings.  So if you have problems with your listings, there is a different reason for that happening.  But it isn't MP.

You don't have the ability to change your Payment Methods in your listings.  None of us do.  Ebay accepts certain types of payment sources and they set that part of the listing.

Everyone received notice of the Fall Seller Update today.  It doesn't appear to me that there is anything to be concerned about in it.  What did you read that caused you concern?

AS far as contacting Ebay, here is a link.

Re: eBAY Updates

Until 2015, Paypal was owned by eBay, so Managed Payments is just eBay returning to the system they had from 2002 until 2015.  Earlier if you count BillPoint.

Why this happened I could not say, but it sounds as if the coding in your listings went bad on you.

It is always a Good Idea to review older listings from time to time for just such problems.

One suspicious change that is often reported is Best Offer being added without the seller's permission. Another is listings that are found on Google (which should be a Good Thing) all too often show there as Free Shipping, although in those cases, the eBay listing is still as written.

And then there are the listings that simply disappear, which is better than the listings that re-appear after the unique item has been sold!

I find that if I review my listings about once a month, about 25 at a time, I catch all kinds of little errors.
