does ebay limit visibility of you're item if you don't promote

I'd like to know IF anyone knows, does Ebay limit you're items visibility in its selling forum IF you

don't use one of their selling options like promotions?

No one knows, and eBay certainly is not going to tell you. 

I do not believe eBay will actively limit visibility - I have never promoted an item and my sales have been steady for years. But obviously the more other people promote, the less visibility you will get. 

And IMHO "visibility" in that sense really only applies to Best Match searches.

ebay absolutely 100% limits visibility of unpromoted listings, not a secret, if one listing is promoted via paying for promoted listings then other unpromoted listings must be lowered in search results.
