date to downgrade subscription

3 reps gave me different info so I need help

Subscription ends May 1st and I want to downgrade. I know I need to do this by April 30th. 2 Reps said I would have to pay for the downgraded price for April besides the new May price. That is nuts as it will be only  few hours. Are they correct? Certainly don't want to giveaway any unnecessary money.

Store subscriptions are paid a month in advance.  If your subscription ends on April 30, then you can downgrade or  cancel at any time during April and the change will take effect on May 1.
