Designer Listing Fees on Bulk Listing in Seller Hub

I got charged ALOT of money for designer listing fees when I listed in the bulk seller hub. There is no way to turn this feature off. This is yet another glitch that I need to stay on the phone and get resolved?

Were you relisting?

Had you ever opted for the Designer Template (the pretty purple border on your listings)?

I agree those are a waste of money, although if you code in your own, there is no charge for that.

I use a simple background colour as a 'brand' for my stores. That was just a matter of working out some HTML coding.

Well over a year ago Ebay had announced that they were going to start charging for anybody using the Listing Designer but evidently those that had a premium store had been exempted from the charges.  Evidently something has changed or a glitch has suddenly happened now that it is year end and Ebay is charging for those using the Listing Designer to help make their 4th quarter numbers.  For anybody using Turbo Lister there is an easy way to eliminate that from all your listings in a folder at one time.   Just select all, right click and then click on Edit Listing Designer, click on Do Not use Listing Designer and it will be removed from all the highlighted items.

I do not know if Ebay plans on removing the charges or not or if this is another money grab to try and increase revenue and show the growth they keep promising wall street.  I would suggest trying to call customer service tomorrow and find out, assuming they actually show up for work on New Years Eve..lol.

Good luck with this one.

I use to have a premium store.  We got free Selling Manager Pro, and along with that came free Listing Designer.  Eventually we could no longer select to include LD, but using SELL SIMILAR we could still use LD for free, and then SMP went poof when Seller Hub came along (events might not be in the right order).

I, too, started getting charged for using LD on 12/29/18.  I could find no way to remove LD in the Advanced listing form, nor in the bulk edit.

I gave a call to ebay CS in the afternoon and the rep said she would let TPTB know, since she couldn't figure out how to remove LD either.  She said she would credit my fees, but I haven't checked on that yet.

That's what happened to me way back when. Followed the advice to unsubscribe to SMP to get out of the Hub and suddenly found I was being charged for LD.
Reality is the leading cause of stress.

I called them too and they couldn't see that I was charged any fees. I had to walk the rep through how to pull up the downloaded status of account for that day to show here that I was absolutely charged those fees. After doing that she credited my account while I was on the phone. Her first reply was they alread fixed the accounts affected by the glitch. Sorry no they weren't fixed. I urge anyone who seen these charges to pay close attention to you invoice.

Yes I was relisting. I opted into it a long time ago. I was never charged for it ever. And the funny thing was if I relisted it alone it did not charge me. But if I bulk listed it did. I can't figure out how to get them off but I have a lot of listings that have it. Guess I have to spend time and create new listings for those.

I was credited those fees as it was a glitch. We are not to be charged for listing designer fees at least with a store subcription. I am not sure without a store.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DELETE YOUR AUCTIONS LOCKED WITH LISTING DESIGNER!!!

THERE IS A CURE!!! -- READ MY DETAILS BELOW:

As you might guess from my auctions I am a systems engineer and its in my nature to find speedy and simple cures for glitchy issues.  Here is the very best cure to knock out the horrifically pesky eBay "Listing Designer", "Gallery Plus", and "Subtitle" pricey glitches that are currently plaguing the heck out of eBay.  I also called and had tech support drill this method in their support answer system as a cure-all to this issue.  And the best part is even for the biggest auctioneer with hundreds of auctions, this will work for you and you will invest no more than 30 minutes of your time tops to fixing all you hundreds of pre-existing auctions.  Here's what you do:

1.  Download eBay's now extinct Turbo Lister v2.0 app from a reliable source and load it on your PC.

http://download.ebay.com/turbo_lister2/TurboListerInstall.htm

2.  Sign in with it and synchronize it with all your auctions -- don't worry if you didn't use Turbo Lister to make the auctions, because it will still work and I will tell you how to clear the glitches that will happen.

3. Once it is done synchronizing, expand Turbo Lister to take up your whole screen just to make things easier, grab all your auctions at once, right click on all of them, click "EDIT MULTIPLE ITEMS",  expand that window to take up your whole screen for the sake of ease, scroll down the right hand side to "Listing Upgrades" and put a check mark in "Value Pack: COMBINE GALLERY PLUS, SUBTITLE AND LISTING DESIGNER AND RECEIVE A DISCOUNT!", even if you see a solid blue square in the check box (that just means some of your auctions have this feature already), then after the "Value Pack" check is in place it automatically check marks Gallery Plus,

FYI: at this point, if for some reason you want to keep either the subtitle or Gallery Plus on some of your auctions then you will have to separate off those particular auction groups and custom handle those auction entries one by one or you will eliminate all your custom subtitles on accident handling them as a MULTIPLE ITEM group edit.

Then click the button "Listing Upgrades", in this window just put an "x" or anything you want in the "Subtitle" field (it won't work without something in this field), then click SAVE in the lower right hand corner and click OK in the dialog box that pops up asking you to confirm changes, the "EDIT MULTIPLE ITEMS" window closes and you get another dialog box that pops up and hit OK in it as well, WARNING! DO NOT SYNCHRONIZE YET!, and yes, I know we just turned all these unwanted features on all of our auctions in your downloaded auctions hive - just bear with me because this clears a glitch, now right click the entire grouping of auction hives again and hit "EDIT MULTIPLE ITEMS" again, expand that window to take up your whole screen for the sake of ease, scroll down the right hand side to "Listing Upgrades" and REMOVE the check mark in "Value Pack: COMBINE GALLERY PLUS, SUBTITLE AND LISTING DESIGNER AND RECEIVE A DISCOUNT!", then you get another dialog box that pops up asking if you would like to keep your subtitles and click NO, then SAVE the  "Listing Designer (Multiple Values)" window again.

At this point, custom check all of your auctions individually that you are certain that you don't want any SUBTITLES and make sure there is no text left in those Subtitle Fields, or else when you synchronize Turbo Lister will accidentally add that subtitle in your auction.  Make sure all the SUBTITLE fields are blank.

Also, DO NOT BOTHER WITH the Listing Designer tab in the Description Builder button -- it will not eliminate Listing Designer in your auctions properly.  All that is good for is to check to see if Listing Designer is unchecked.  If it is checked, you have to do the steps above again for the actions that still have this undesirable feature checked.

Once you are sure all your downloaded auctions look good and have all your pics uploaded correctly, then synchronize and all those pesky features will be removed.  If you screw up and synchronize accidentally adding some or a bunch of these options on accident and then remove them and see that you are being billed for them, just call eBay and explain that you were trying to use Turbo Lister to get rid of these features and they will remove the fees.  I had no problems with them removing fees when I finally got this figured out with trial and error.  But if you do it right the first time following my steps you should have no problems.

So, in the end, as a reality check for all the sellers out there of how worth it it might be to give this cure a try to eliminate these 3 pesky features, after I informed eBay tech support of this hidden cure to eliminate all 3 of these stubborn features, and I asked to be reimbursed for these fees that have been locked in my account auctions since these changes in September 2017, I logged in to find that eBay had credited my seller account for $1,649.94 USD in accumulated fees from these darn locked in features since September 2017.  Pretty worth my while to get this resolved... and pretty respectable of eBay to credit my account so quickly and heartily thank me for detailing the hidden work around of exactly how to use Turbo Lister to successfully remove these legacy features.

Hope this helps a lot of sellers :0)
